10 Natural Treatments For Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are also known as piles. These cause infections in the anus and surrounding parts. Due to swallowing around the parts, the person affected with hemorrhoids faces difficulty in bowel movement and faces immense pain, itching, burning etc. It is very common in females and children.

The infection can occur inside or outside the anal part and thus hemorrhoid is of internal and external type. Hemorrhoids are caused by swollen veins and result from increased pressure. Natural treatments used for curing hemorrhoids are very effective and cheap as well.


List of Natural Treatments for Hemorrhoids

Husks

Husks are outer shells or membranes of some fruits and seeds. Powdered form of husks is very beneficial in relaxing the bowel movement. Powdered husks can be added in a glass of water and can be drunk as such. Psyllium is a very effective husk which is inexpensive also.

Consuming psyllium husk daily can reduce constipation and pain. Psyllium mixed with water or milk is a very good for hemorrhoids. 6-8 glasses of this drink are recommended. Husks contain fibers in large amount that make them beneficial for treating ailments.


Figs

Figs are flowering plants that are good for treating hemorrhoids. Dry figs soaked in water for the whole night can be consumed along with water. The liquid can also be used for applying on the infected area. It helps in bowel movement and reduces straining. It can be used in bath water which is especially called sitz bath for treating hemorrhoids.

1-2 figs can be consumed in the morning when the stomach is empty. 3-4 figs can be consumed in a month. Dry figs are considered to be the most effective remedy for hemorrhoids. Figs reduce pressure and ease bowel movement. They can also be combined with lemon juice to further enhance the treatment.


Radish

Radish is a root crop effective in hemorrhoids treatment. Grated radish can be consumed at least 2 times a day and is effective against inflammation and pain. It can be taken as 2 teaspoons along with 1 teaspoon of honey. It can also be consumed as salad or juice. 60-90 ml of radish juice with salt added into it should be taken during morning and evening.

Honey in small amount is also good to be added in radish juice. Whitish radish can be used both for internal and external hemorrhoids. After mixing with milk to make a paste, it can be applied over the affected area. Radishes contain a large amount of vitamins and minerals, and are involved in detoxification.


Ginger

Ginger mixed with lime and mint along with 1 tablespoon of honey is good for treating piles. One can see improvements within two weeks after consuming it. Ginger root is an effective remedy for hemorrhoids. It acts as an antioxidant and removes all the toxic substances from the body. It also regulates blood circulation and purifies blood.

Ginger is an herb that has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. Ginger can also be taken as spices that stimulate digestive system but its overuse can cause irritation. It can be used both for internal and external hemorrhoids. Ginger also has pain-killing properties and it reduces swelling.


Butter Milk

Butter milk and bitter gourd leaves mixed together are also effective against piles. Using cow’s milk, prepare butter milk and add ginger, rock salt and peppercorns into the mixture. Consume this mixture as 2 times per day for effective use. After eating a mixture of grinded black mustard and yogurt, drink a glass of butter milk which can treat hemorrhoids at a faster rate.

Chitkara herb mixed with butter milk can be used for treating Hemorrhoids. Take powdered form of Chitkara and mix it with 100 ml butter milk, keep for 2-3 hours and filter. Consume 10 ml of this drink 1-2 times per day after meal. This combination relieves the pain, itching and correct digestive enzymes. A glass of butter milk with 2 tablespoons of bitter melon juice consumed in every month reduces swelling.


Wheatgrass

Because of detoxification properties of wheatgrass, it can be consumed as juice which is very effective. Wheatgrass implants detoxify the colon walls and heal hemorrhoids. It helps in digestion and reduces constipation.

 


Vitamin E Oil

Vitamin E Oil can be applied on the anal affected area which provide relief from pain. It can also be taken in the form of capsules. Powder emptied from vitamin E capsule along with vitamin E oil can be spread over the infected area after taking bath to get relief from itching. It acts as disinfecting agent and heals the skin .


Garlic

Peeled garlic clove is used to reduce inflammation. Eat it before going to bed and it would help in reducing hemorrhoids. A mixture of witch hazel, apple cider vinegar and a clove of garlic relieves from pain and irritation in case of external hemorrhoids. Mixing aloe vera gel with pieces of garlic clove can be applied over the infected area in case of internal hemorrhoids. It has antibacterial properties and acts as an antibiotic.

It reduces itching and inflammation over the infected area. Garlic water is also beneficial for removing hemorrhoids symptoms. It is prepared by mixing 2 cloves of garlic in 2 cups of water and then heating it for 30 minutes. Cool it before applying it over the infected areas. Garlic juice is also good for health. Garlic along with onion is a very good remedy for treating hemorrhoids.


Potato

Small pieces of potatoes are helpful for inflammation. Peeled raw potatoes can be placed over the infected area. Potatoes can be peeled, kept in cheesecloth, chilled and then it is applied over the affected part. Also, on applying grated potatoes, swelling and pain is reduced.

Another remedy is to wash the potatoes, cut them into pieces and blend them with a bit of water. This liquid can be very effective in curing hemorrhoids. Potatoes reduce the pain by acting as astringents.


Lemon Juice

Applying lemon juice on hemorrhoids helps in relieving pain. It may cause itching for a few seconds but then provides ease and relaxation from pain. It also reduces swelling and bleeding. Another method is to cut the unpeeled lemon into 4 parts. Boil it in 1 litre of water for 15 minutes and drink one cup of this mixture per day for softening the stools.
