15 Simple Home Remedies To Lighten Dark Skin On Hands and Feet

There several reasons due to which the skin on our hands and legs darkens. These factors can be the sun, environmental pollution, certain cosmetics, dryness of the skin, medications etc. Instead of damaging the skin further with chemical laden skin lightening products it is better to use simple home remedies which are very effective in lightening the dark skin of hands and legs.

Gram Flour And Rose Water Paste

Gram flour helps in lightening the skin color and also retains the natural moisture of the skin while rose water has a cooling effect on the skin. In a bowl take three tablespoons of gram flour. To it add rose water and mix well to form a thick paste. Apply it to the hands and legs and leave it for one hour. Wash off with water. Follow the remedy once daily.

Lemon Juice

Lemon has skin lightening properties which help in lightening the skin color. It is also loaded with antioxidants which are good for the skin and help in keeping the skin healthy. Take juice of a lemon in a bowl and dip a cotton ball into it. Apply the juice to the hands and legs. Leave it for 30 minutes. Wash with water. Follow the remedy twice in a week.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera gel is useful in treating hyper pigmentation and also has a cooling effect on the skin. Apply aloe vera gel directly to the hands and legs and wash it off after half an hour. Follow the remedy thrice in a week.

Raw Milk

Raw milk is a very good bleaching and cleansing agent and can be used effectively for lightening of skin of hands and legs. Take raw milk in a bowl. Dip cotton ball into it and apply it to the hands and legs. Leave it for one hour and wash it off with water. Follow the remedy daily.

Honey

Honey has skin bleaching properties. It also has moisturizing and antibacterial properties. Take raw honey in a bowl. To it add lemon juice, almond oil and milk powder. Mix well and apply this mixture to the hands and legs. Wash with water after half an hour. Follow the remedy once in a week.

Yogurt

Yogurt has skin lightening properties and the lactic acids help as an exfoliating agent.Take fresh yogurt in a bowl and add honey to it. Mix well. Apply the mixture to the hands and the legs. Wash with tepid water after 30 minutes. Follow the remedy twice in a week.

Oranges

Oranges have skin bleaching properties and they contain vitamin C which is very good for the skin. Take orange peels and raw milk and grind it to a thick paste. Apply this paste to the hands and legs. Wash with tepid water after 30 minutes. Follow the remedy twice in a week.

 

Papaya

Papaya too has skin bleaching properties and helps in making the skin radiant. Take the pulp of a ripe papaya. To it add lemon juice. Mix it well and apply the mixture to the hands and legs. Wash it with water after 30 minutes. Follow the remedy once in a week.

Potatoes

Potatoes have skin lightening properties and hence can be used as bleaching agents. Cut a potato and apply it on the hands and legs. Wash with water after half an hour. You can also apply the juice of potatoes.

Turmeric

Turmeric has skin lightening properties and gives a natural glow to the skin. In a bowl take turmeric powder. To it add olive oil. Mix well and apply the paste to the hands and legs. Wash it off after 15 minutes. Follow the remedy thrice in a week.

Cucumber

Cucumber helps to lighten the skin tone, tightens the skin and has a cooling effect on the skin. Grate a cucumber and add honey to it and apply this mixture to the hands and legs .Wash it off with water after half an hour. Alternatively you can mix the cucumber juice and lemon juice and apply it to the hands and legs and wash after sometime. You can follow any one of the methods thrice in a week.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes have skin lightening properties and also help in making the skin look bright. Take half cup of tomato juice in a bowl .To it add one cup of buttermilk. Mix well and with the help of a cotton ball apply the mixture to the hands and legs. Wash with water after 30 minutes. Follow the remedy once daily especially in summer for treating tanned skin.

White Vinegar And Salt

This combination is also found to give visible skin lightening effect especially for the feet. In a tub take lukewarm water. To it add half teaspoon of white vinegar and one teaspoon of rock salt. Mix well and soak hands and feet in it for 10 minutes. Scrub gently and wash with plain water. Follow the remedy twice in a week.

Sandalwood Powder

Sandalwood powder has skin bleaching properties. In a bowl take the sandalwood powder. To it add tomato juice and mix well to form a thick paste. Apply it to the hands and legs and wash after half an hour. Follow the remedy once in a week.

Strawberry And Milk Cream

Strawberries have skin lightening properties and this surely is a yummy way of treating skin. Take pulp of strawberries in a bowl. To it add milk cream and mix well. Apply this mixture to the hands and legs. Wash after one hour. Follow the remedy once in a week.

These simple home remedies are very effective in lightening the color of hands and legs and should be used on a regular basis.
