23 Natural Cure For Gas

Gas refers to a condition characterized by excessive passing of gas and belching. It is generally caused due to the inflammation in the stomach lining. Some common symptoms include hiccups, heartburn, bad breath, bloating sensation, the feeling of fullness in the upper abdomen and bad taste in mouth.

There can be an array of reasons that can lead to the development of this affliction, such as parasites infections, severe stress, excessive alcohol intake and regular use of pain killers. Following are some popular natural remedies for gas.


How to Cure Gas Naturally

Rice Gruel

Consuming one cup of rice gruel twice daily imparts great relief from gas problems.


Roasted Fennel Seeds

Roast some fennel seeds at low heat for ten to fifteen minutes. Chew these seeds thoroughly three times a day, preferably just after your regular meals.


Figs

Put some figs in warm water for twenty minutes. Then, filter the liquid and drink it. Use this remedy twice daily.


Peach Leaves

Put two tsp. of dried peach leaves and pour hot water over them. Drink the resulting concoction after ten minutes. Use this natural remedy for gas three times daily.


Curd and Buttermilk

Consuming curd and butter milk along with cumin water can also be very effective in relieving heartburn, stomach pain and other discomforts caused by gas.


Black Salt and Sprague Powder

Mix one part of black salt and six parts of Sprague powder. Add two grams of the resulting mixture in a cup of warm purified water. Stir it thoroughly. Drink it two times a day.


Potato Juice

Take some fresh healthy raw potatoes. Cut those parts that are green into the flesh and on the skin. Cut the rest of the potatoes into small pieces, blend it in a blender and strain its juice. Consume half cup of potato juice at least two times a day, before lunch and dinner.


Carrot and Spinach

Mix 300 ml of carrot juice and 200 ml of spinach juice together. Drink the resulting mixture at least once everyday.


Carom Seeds and Salt

Grind some carom seeds in powdered form. Mix a pinch of salt in one teaspoon of the resulting powder and gulp it down with one glass of lukewarm water.


Garlic, Milk and Water

Mix 100 ml of milk, 100 ml of water and 5g of garlic. Boil this mixture at high heat until it gets reduced to half its quantity. Strain the liquid and drink it. Use this remedy once daily. You can also consider replacing garlic with ginger. Both the remedies work great in curing gas problems.


Cumin Seeds

Crush some cumin seeds to turn it into powdered form. Mix ½ tsp. of the resulting powder in 1 liter of purified water. Boil the mixture for just two minutes at high heat. Filter it and drink it as many times a day as you want. In fact, you can even consider drinking cumin water in place of normal water. This way, you can get great relief from gas symptoms within just 2-3 days.


Fenugreek, Turmeric and Buttermilk

Mix ½ tsp. of fenugreek seeds in ½ glass of buttermilk. Add a pinch of turmeric powder in it. Stir the mixture thoroughly. Drink it at night, half an hour before you sleep.


Triphala Powder

Add 1 tbsp. of triphala powder in two cups of water. Boil the mixture at high heat until its quantity is reduced to half. Filter it. Add 1 tbsp. of honey into it. Drink it hot.


Jaggery and Ash Gourd

Add two teaspoons each of Jaggery and ash gourd in one glass of boiling water and let the herbs steep for thirty minutes. Filter the liquid and drink it once daily. This remedy is particularly more beneficial in relieving burning and bloating sensation caused by gas.


Lemon Juice

Mix juice squeezed from half piece of a lemon in one glass of purified water. Besides relieving the feeling of nausea, this remedy also speeds up the healing of inflammation on the stomach line.


Honey and Long Pepper Powder

Consume ½ gram of long pepper powder with 1 tsp. of honey, twice daily.


Ginger

Drinking ginger tea is one of the most effective ways to treat almost all the symptoms of gas problems naturally. You can prepare this tea simply by mixing ginger as an additional ingredient in your normal tea. However, for faster relief, you are advised to steep one tsp. of crushed ginger in one cup of boiling water and drink it hot without adding any other ingredients like sugar or teabags.

Besides drinking ginger tea, you should also chew fresh ginger three times a day, preferably before every regular meal. Both the remedies heal the damaged tissues of your intestines and stomach caused by gas-induced inflammation.


Goldenseal

Drinking goldenseal tea is also very beneficial, as it kills those bacteria that cause gas problems. Though goldenseal can be taken in supplement form, you are advised to drink it in the form of herbal tea for faster relief. The goldenseal tea can be made by boiling one teaspoon of dried goldenseal leaves in one cup of purified water for ten minutes. Sip it hot.


Peppermint Leaves

Add two teaspoons of crushed peppermint leaves in one cup of boiling water. Let the herbs steep for fifteen minutes. Drink this herbal tea two times daily. Peppermint leaves contain menthol that acts like volatile oils, which eventually helps in relieving gas symptoms.


Papaya

Eat one raw papaya daily. Alternatively, you can also consider chewing raw papaya seeds. Papaya contains natural enzymes that improve your digestive system and relieve most of the symptoms of gas problems.


Licorice

Wash 300mg to 600 mg licorice roots thoroughly with purified water. Chew the roots and gulp down its juices, but spit the roots out in the end after sucking all its juices. It will heal your gastrointestinal tract very fast.


Coconut Water

Drinking coconut water twice daily is the simplest yet the most effective way to cure gas problems naturally. In fact, as soon as you notice that gas symptoms have begun to surface, you should keep one day of fast and drink fresh coconut water only. It will prevent the lining of your stomach from getting infected much before the condition gets worse.


Hot Bags

Fill hot water in a rubber bag and apply its heat by placing it over your stomach (over your cloths, not directly on the skin). You can try this remedy several times a day. It will restrict the gas formation, which will eventually provide you great relief from excessive belching and passing of gas. Overall, there are plenty of ways to cure gas problems naturally. But, you are advised not to use lots of remedies together at a time.
