The fruit of this herb not only takes care of whitening hair but also thickens the hair. The method for using this hair is by taking the gooseberries and slicing it into strips, soaking them in water and drying them in shade. Once dry, this striped amla has to be boiled in coconut oil till the amla is fully cooked and softened. Strain the oil and use it regularly on to the scalp for best use.

Also the remaining water can be put to effective use by washing the hair with it. Another successful way of fighting white hair is to take the amla juice and combine it with juice of lime and almond oil and apply it on the scalp onto the hair roots on a daily basis.
