Your face is not the only site of pimple breakout. Pimples can develop anywhere on your body and even on your eyelids. Pimples develop when the hair follicles become clogged by sebum that encourages bacteria to multiply in the blocked hair follicles. When the hair follicles on your eyelids become clogged and infected, pimples appear on your eyelids. Pimple on the eyelid is also known as sty. In most cases, the pimple heals on its own. However, pimples on eyelids are usually painful and hence require certain remedies to speed up the healing process.
The anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and astringent properties of tea help in providing fast relief from the pimple breakout on the eyelid. After brewing a cup of tea, instead of discarding the tea bag, hold the warm tea bag on the affected eyelid. Hold it for about 5 minutes. Apply the warm compress with the used tea bag several times a day.
Tea tree oil is a natural antibiotic. It is widely used for treating pimples including sty. Blend one teaspoon of tea tree oil with two tablespoons of filtered water. Refrigerate the diluted tea tree oil for 10 to 15 minutes. Dip clean cotton ball in the cold diluted tea tree oil. Close your eyes and dab the diluted tea tree oil on your eyelids. Reapply 2 to 3 times a day.
Parsley helps in reducing the inflammation of the eyelid and its antibacterial compounds help in destroying the pimple-causing germs. Boil a big handful of fresh parsley leaves in 8 ounces of water for 5 minutes. Soak a clean washcloth in the warm parsley decoction. Wring it out to remove the excess water. Close your eyes and place the damp cloth on the affected eye. Apply the warm compress with parsley decoction twice a day.
Rosewater and camphor are natural antiseptics. Add a pinch of camphor to a teaspoon of rosewater. Dip a clean cotton ball in the solution and place it on the pimple. Reapply 2 to 3 times a day to reduce the swelling and pain.
Because of its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities, turmeric is a popular remedy for pimples. Combining turmeric with castor oil or coconut oil helps the active compounds in turmeric to penetrate the skin and provide fast relief. Add a pinch of ground turmeric to a teaspoon of castor oil or coconut oil. With cotton swab put a small amount of the turmeric and oil mixture on the affected eyelid.
