5 Simple Ways To Balance Your pH Naturally

Share

The natural pH of the human body is between 7.3 and 7.45. Hence, our body is slightly alkaline. A number of health disorders develop when the natural pH balance of the body is disturbed and it falls below 7 or becomes acidic. It is a common experience that increase in acidity triggers digestive disorders. Naturopaths even blame acidic environment of the body for cardiovascular disorders, weakened immunity, muscle and joint pains, asthma attacks, lethargy, urinary tract disorders and low fertility.

Similarly, increase in alkalinity of the body above the desired level is not good for your health.  It causes nausea, involuntary muscle spasms, dizziness and seizures. Hence, maintaining the natural pH of the body helps in providing relief from an array of health disorders naturally. By modifying your diet and lifestyle you can easily maintain the natural pH balance of your body.

Here Are Some Easy Steps To Correct The Ph Of Your Body:

Eat Recommended Amount of Fruit and Vegetables

The pH of your body will decline and your system will become acidic if you do not consume sufficient fruits and vegetables. All types of fruits and vegetables are alkaline. Even fruits with high acid content such as citrus fruits, pineapples and strawberries produce alkaline reactions in the body that help in neutralizing the acid producing chemicals in the body. To restore the natural pH balance of your body, consume three servings of fruits and five servings of vegetables daily.

Drink Sufficient Pure Water

Pure water with a pH of 7 is neutral. To balance the pH of your body, drink sufficient amount of pure drinking water that is neither acidic nor alkaline. However, to counter the acidic environment of your body you can occasionally drink alkaline water.

Limit Grain Consumption

Consuming grains makes the body acidic. To maintain the pH of the body in the normal range, limit consumption of breads, rice and cereals. However, sprouted grains are slightly alkaline and can be added to the diet for people suffering from low pH.

Magnesium Supplements

Apart from consuming magnesium rich foods, you may need magnesium supplementation to correct the pH balance of your body. Magnesium deficiency stimulates production of lactic acid, which increases the acidity of the body. Nuts and seeds are good sources of magnesium.

Stress Management

Stress and emotional problems increase the acidity of your body. Managing stress helps in restoring the natural pH of the body. You can reduce stress by practising deep breathing exercises or through cognitive behavioural therapy.
