5 Simple Ways To Make Homemade Peppermint Cooling Spray

Peppermint cools and soothes the skin. It is a popular ingredient in products that cool and refresh the skin. When the skin becomes overheated following sun exposure, spritzing cool peppermint decoction instantly cools the skin and reduces skin damage. It even helps in reducing the body heat when suffering from fever. The cooling effect of peppermint also helps in alleviating hot flashes and night sweat triggered by hormonal fluctuations in women.

Here Are Some Simple Ways To Make Homemade Peppermint Cooling Spray :

1. Peppermint Tea Spray

Spraying the heated areas of the body with cool peppermint tea helps in refreshing the area. In addition to soothing the heated area, it helps reduce skin itching and inflammation because of insect bite.

Ingredients

Three cups of peppermint leaves and flowers
Two liters of water

Method Of Preparation

Boil the peppermint leaves and flower in water for about 10 minutes. Allow the peppermint tea to cool. Strain and pour the liquid in a spritz bottle. Spray as needed on the affected area.

2. Peppermint And Cucumber

Cucumber is known for its cooling effect. Spraying peppermint and cucumber facial mist on the heated face helps to cool and sooth it on a hot summer day. In addition, it adds extra moisture to the skin and reduces skin dryness.

Ingredients

Four peppermint tea bags
One cucumber
15 drops peppermint essential oil
One cup distilled water

Method Of Preparation

Bring the water to a boil. When the water starts boiling, remove the pan from the heat and add the peppermint tea bags. Steep them for 20 minutes. Remove the tea bags and allow the peppermint tea to cool. Peel and mash the cucumber and extract the juice. Mix the cucumber juice with the peppermint tea. Add the essential oil and mix well. Pour the mixture in a spritz bottle. Store it in the refrigerator.

3. Peppermint And Lemon

Lemon essential oil is known for its astringent and cooling properties. It is used along with peppermint essential oil for cooling the body.

Ingredients

Two drops peppermint essential oil
Two drops lemon essential oil
Two ounces of water

Method Of Preparation

Add all the ingredients in a spray bottle and shake vigorously to mix them well. Use it as needed to cool the skin.

4. Peppermint And Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil when added to peppermint face spray makes it a suitable product for fighting skin breakouts. The antibacterial property of tea tree oil helps in suppressing growth of the acne-causing bacteria. This cooling face spray is ideal for the inflamed and irritated skin.

Ingredients

Two peppermint tea bags
One cup water
One lemon
One teaspoon vegetable glycerin
10 drops peppermint essential oil
10 drops tea tree essential oil

Method Of Preparation

Pour the water in a pan and bring it to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat and steep the peppermint tea bags for about ten minutes. Discard the tea bags and let the peppermint tea cool. Squeeze the lemon juice into the cool tea. Add the glycerin and essential oils and mix well. Pour the mixture in a spray bottle and use as needed.

5. Peppermint, Clary Sage And Chamomile

When the skin becomes heated due to hormonal changes, spraying a cooling mixture of peppermint, clary sage and chamomile essential oils to the skin helps reduce the heat.

Ingredients

8 drops peppermint essential oil
8 drops clary sage essential oil
8 drops Roman chamomile essential oil
One ounce witch hazel
Three ounces water

Method Of Preparation

Pour the water in a spray bottle. Add witch hazel and the essential oils and mix well. Use the blend as needed.
