Flax seeds also contain fiber like psyllium does and improves removal of wastage form the body. For one cup you need one tsp of slippery elm powder.
Psyllium is a very well known herbal husk which adds fiber to your diet. This fiber being rough makes the bowel movement much better. You can take one tbsp of psyllium husk in one glass of water. You should take this much dose twice a day. Psyllium demands that you drink enough water, otherwise you will end up suffering from constipation.
German chamomile is considered beneficial to give relief from symptoms of diverticulitis. People know chamomile as a herb for gastrointestinal disorders.
You can drink a cup of chamomile tea thrice a day. To make tea you have to steep 2 tsp of dry chamomile in one cup of boiling water. Let it be there for about 5 to 10 minutes, strain and drink.
Wild yam works well in combination with valerian root and peppermint. They are best as an infusion in the ratio of one part of valerian, one part of peppermint and two parts wild yam. This infusion should be taken three or four times a day. Wild yam provides relief from symptoms of diverticulitis.
