Chamomile Tea

The anti-inflammatory properties of chamomile tea soothe inflamed lining of the stomach. It also has a relaxing effect on the smooth muscles of the digestive tract. Add one chamomile tea bag to boiling water and let it simmer for five to seven minutes. Drink the chamomile tea thus prepared to get relief from stomach cramps.

Ginger

Ginger juice is a natural smooth muscle relaxant and thus aids in easing abdominal cramps. It can be taken in form of ginger ale or in the form of ginger tea for a colicky stomach. Add diced pieces of fresh ginger root to boiling water and let it stay for about five to seven minutes. Add a teaspoon of honey to it. The ginger tea thus prepared is an age old formula to soothe stomach pain.

Mint Leaves

Mint leaves are great appetizers and help a great deal in easing stomach pain due to indigestion. Mint leaves can be chewed as it is.

Else, add four to five mint leaves in one cup of boiling water and let it simmer for about five minutes. Let the water cool down. Add one tablespoon of honey and mix it. Drinking this water helps in easing stomach pain.

Lemon

Add lemon juice to warm water and drink it to soothe stomach ache. One to two tablespoon of honey can be added to render it a sweet taste. A pinch of black salt instead of honey would help ease any associated symptoms like nausea.

Another alternative is to drink lemon tea. Add tea and lemon juice to boiling water and let it simmer for one to two minutes. Drinking this lemon tea helps to ease abdominal discomfort and pain.

Fennel Seeds

Fennel seeds stimulate the secretion of digestive juices and help relieve stomach pain due to indigestion. Fennel seed can be chewed as it is after each meal. Alternatively, add half a tablespoon of fennel seeds to one cup of boiling water and simmer it for four to five minutes. Let the water cool. Drinking this fennel water helps relieve stomach cramps.

Rice Water

Rice water forms a coating over the inflamed lining of the stomach which eases the tummy ache. Cook one cup of rice in about four cups of water. Once the rice is cooked, remove the excess water. Drink this rice water to get rid of stomach cramps.
