6 Quick Tips To Regenerate Your Immune System

Share

A kingdom is well protected when its line of front warriors is strong and unconquerable. Their strength lies in their strong resistance to the enemy’s onslaught and are able to reverse any adverse strategies devised by the enemy. The front warriors form an impenetrable barricade for the enemy to enter their fort or kingdom and the enemy has to retreat from the borders of the kingdom itself. These frontal warriors in the human body is the immune system, while the fort consists of the organs in the human body. An immune system, hence, is very clear that it is the defense mechanism developed and maintained by the human body to keep at bay common infections that may carry germs, viruses and other foreign substances.

The immune system consists of tonsils, lymph nodes and lymphatics, the thymus gland, bone marrow and the spleen. The important issue to consider is, how to maintain this frontal line of defense mechanism itself strong, healthy and functioning. It is clear that if a weak immune system (frontline warrior) collapses, then the risk of the organs(kingdom) improper functioning is imminent. However, falling sick and recovering is a natural cycle, but let us consider the various ways by which we may avoid nurturing a weak immune system and of course shortening the cycle of regenerating a strong immune system.

1. Restorative Sleep:

Cold and flu does not fetch one the required quality and restorative sleep that is essential to feel energetic. Proteins called cytokines are released when we sleep and their release have to be increased in large quantities under stress conditions as in cold and flu. Losing good sleep is to reduce the cytokines quantity in our body and slowing down the process of recovery and thereby the immune system. The recommended aid to quick recovery from a bout of illness is to sleep well and not overtly stress in the gym to recover. Cold and flu are most often accompanied with a bad throat. This is due to the tonsils getting infected. Located on either side of the throat, the antibodies produced by the tonsils help to fight infections. It is advisable to sleep well for eight hours a day and take a break from your busy routine.

2. Detoxify Your System:

Post a bout of illness, the recovery to good health is tricky and sometimes very slow. One tends to feel groggy and very fatigued. One needs what is common but hard to find “energy” at such times. The best way to get back into an energetic mode is to detox. Detoxification is the process of cleansing the entire system of toxins that may have accumulated in our body and the natural way the body does is to detox throughout he colon and the liver. Hence it is advisable not to pressurize the digestive system with heavy food, but to pack in with plenty of fresh fruit juices and chew fresh fruits too. Chewing into juicy fruits is recommended to encourage saliva in the mouth and aid in quick digestion. Water is a sound and is an always available faithful detox agent, but we need to bring in energy to infuse the weakened system. Make it a rigorous routine to drink every 90 minutes and one tends to feel lighter, as the cleansing system is rejuvenated.

3. Simple and Energy Boosting Diet Plan for Three days:

Commence your first meal of the day with breakfast loaded with plenty of vitamin C. Fruits and vegetables are loaded with Vitamin C. Include in your breakfast a bowl of freshly cut mango, papaya, guava, kiwi fruit and the star fruit or the carambola. Green leafy juices also go a long way in serving as energy boosters.

Continue to drink fresh juices every 90 minutes to two hours till lunch time. Make your lunch too very light but packed with probiotics like yogurt, boiled spinach and broccoli soup. Make this soup hot, rich and tangy with a dash of powdered pepper, mix in finely chopped red bell pepper, garlic, a pinch of turmeric and crushed ginger, and salt to taste and squeeze lemon juice for a complete tangy taste. Dinner can be had with a bowl of freshly cooked brown rice with a lot of fiber rich sources. Make the servings limited to three to four servings only. Remember the detox fresh fruit juices always help to feel you full. Finally call it a day with a glass of warm milk.

4. Exercise By Walking :

Diet and sleep taken care of, remember to include exercises too as part of your rejuvenation plan. Exercises help to loosen your strained muscles and reduce stress. Weight loss may not always be a reason for one to resort to exercise. Walking for about half an hour to one hour twice a day will help to reduce blood pressure and regulate sugar levels which may be irregular due to illness and stress. Jogging is not actually wise to pursue immediately after recovery from an illness, since there is the risk of falling down and injuring oneself due to weakness that has set in from the illness. One tends to sleep better with a thirty minutes walking daily. Walking also helps in easy blood circulation and burns down your calories.

5. Reduce Stress Levels:

A stressful mind weakens the immune system. Depression, physical injuries, prolonged illnesses are some of the reasons that increase the stress hormones in our body. A restful mind on the other hand is a powerful answer to a stressed body. Immune booster aids advocate meditation as an aid to rest the mind and calm down stress hormones. Meditation is highly recommended to lower blood pressure, sugar levels and aid in good sleep. You may also pamper yourself with a good body massage that helps to reduce stress and encourage blood circulation. One may pursue other ways to reduce stress levels as listening to good music, playing a game of chess, solving crosswords or indulging in the art of painting.

6. Laugh To Spring Back Into Action:

Endorphins prove their effectiveness in resistance to pain or the feeling of goodness after an achievement like working out at the gym, meditating or being appreciated. Counselors and psychologists advocate the encouragement or inducement of laughter in pain, so that endorphins are released and the feeling of goodness sets in fighting pain. Our immune system is weakened with stress. Humor and effective laughter tends to optimize the immune system to fight off diseases. Hormones secreted due to stress block the immune cell. Laughter helps to increase the production of antibodies and aids in strengthening the immune system.
