Share

Tea is one of the preferred beverages. Most of the people start their day with a hot cup of tea because it is very refreshing. I am sure you might be knowing the procedure to make tea. On a higher side, you just have to boil a cup of water and add tea bags to it. Some people prefer black tea and others like to add milk to it. You can make it the way you like. You can make your tea better by adding sugar, ginger, etc. But, what would you do with the used tea bags? Throw them in the dustbin? Well, you will be amazed to know that there are a lot of ways in which you can use those tea bags.

1. Younger Skin

If you are fond of having green tea, then the tea bag would be very useful for you. Green tea has anti-oxidants and so it helps in destroying free radicals. You can rub a used tea bag on your face and it will give you younger looking skin. After you have used the tea bag, keep it aside to cool down. Once it gets cool, massage with it on your clean and dry face. A recently used tea bag would be easy to use as it would have soaked water. This would help you in massaging easily with the tea bag. Let the tea bag work for 10-15 minutes. You can then wash your face with warm water.

2. Acne

Acnes are usually caused when dead skin and oil get captured in your skin pores. They usually occur on the parts of body which secrete excess oil. So, you will mostly have them on your face. Tea can help you in preventing acnes. Tea is an astringent, it helps in contracting your skin. So it will contract your skin pores, not allowing them to capture dirt. After using the tea bags for the tea, let them cool down. Once cool, you can use them on your clean and dry face. Gently massage your face with the used tea bag. Let it work for 10-15 minutes and then wash your face with warm water. You can then apply moisturiser as required.

3. Puffy Eyes

If you are trying to get rid of puffy eyes, tea bags can help you here. Tea is an astringent. It will contract the skin near your eyes and would reduce the puffiness. After using the tea bags, keep them separately to cool down. Make sure you have two used tea bags, one for each eye. Once they get cool, place them in fridge for sometime. After around half an hour, you can place the tea bags on your eyes. Relax for 15 minutes with the bags over your eyes. You can then remove the tea bags and wash your face. You will surely see the difference.

4. Bathing

You can use the tea bags in your bathing water. Since they have anti-oxidants, they would destroy the free radicals. If you are fond of herbal tea, then the tea bags will give you a refreshing feeling as well. Try to have atleast 3 tea bags so that the water gets the benefits of the tea bags. Once you have used the tea bags, put them in your bathing water. Let the water take up the benefits for around 10 minutes after which you can use  it for bathing.

5. Smelly Feet

Tea is a very good agent to cut bad odours. If you have issues with the odour of your feet, you can dip them in tea water and you will notice the difference. Take 2-3 used tea bags and add them to half bucket of warm water. Let the tea bags stay in water for 10-15 minutes. Mix the water so that it takes up the benefits of the tea bags. Now dip both the feet in the bucket for 15 – 20 minutes. Wipe your feet and moisturise.

6. Household Odour

If the dustbins in your house stink, you can use the brewed tea bags to overcome the issue. Once you have used the tea bags to make your tea, put them at the bottom of the dustbin. Place the dustbin bag over the used tea bag. This would help in cutting down the bad odour from your bin. Make sure that you regularly replace the tea bags, at least once in every 2-3 days.

7. Fridge

A smelly fridge is very difficult to deal with. Since the fridge has the food that we eat, if it doesn’t smell good we don’t feel like eating the food stored inside. But a smelly fridge is a very common scenario as we keep different type of dishes in the fridge and some of them might not have a good fragrance. To keep your fridge fresh, you can keep 2-3 used tea bags inside it. Make sure you do not put the bags in a closed box, they would not serve the purpose. After you have used the tea bags to make your tea, place them in your fridge in an open container.

Now you know what to do with the used tea bags. So do not throw the used tea bags, throw the reused ones.
