7 Home Remedies For Dry Or Cracked Fingertips

Share

Dry or cracked fingertips could be the sign of problems like psoriasis, eczema or other underlying illnesses that affect the skin. But the solution is simple in home remedies. You don’t have to opt for steroids or other chemicals that cause side effects in this case. Dry finger tips can be treated at home using these simple tips. Along with these, do exercise caution to avoid using harsh soaps, detergents and other chemicals that can make this worse-

1. Clarified Butter

This is an age old remedy that has been used around for centuries. It helps in treating the problem of dried and cracked skin while repairing the layers of the skin. It penetrates through the deepest of the layers and helps in quicker healing. Just apply on the finger tips and let it stay.

2. Olive Oil

Massaging fingertips with warm olive oil is known for healing this problem to a great extent. The warm oil seeps through the various layers of the skin and heals the epidermis. Do this at least 2-3 times a day for faster relief.

3. Almond Oil

Massage the fingers well using almond oil as it is rich in vitamin E, which is known best for healing various skin issues including the dried and cracked forms. Again repeat this twice a day for best results. You can also mix this with almond oil.

4. Castor Oil

Just put a few drops of the castor oil on your fingers using a cotton ball. Castor oil has both faster healing properties along with the benefit of natural enzymes that treat and cure this problem.

5. Honey

Just put some honey on the area and let it stay. Cover with gloves or a cloth to ensure that the honey is able to go through the different layers. You can also add a dash of lemon here to prevent all kinds of infections.

6. Use Cold Water

Always use cold water to wash hands instead of hot water, which tends to deplete the skin of moisture. Using warm water makes the problem worse. Cold water on the other hand helps to retain moisture.

7. Aloe Vera

Applying aloe gel in the morning and nights is suggested for cracked fingertips. All forms of dry fingertips can heal faster with the many nourishing and moisturising properties of the aloe vera gel.
