Dental plaque is a film which formed over our teeth. This film consists of bacteria and sticky foods that we eat; it is usually sticky in nature and is colourless to pale white in appearance. It is a normal tendency to develop plaque since there are bacteria present in our mouth and the food that we eat tends to form a film over the teeth. Sugar rich foods or the sticky starch rich foods mainly contribute to the formation of plaque. Now in normal cases when we brush the plaque is removed and our mouth becomes clean again. 1. Brush Using Baking Soda
Baking soda helps in removing plaque as well as makes the teeth white in appearance. All you need to do is put some baking soda on your brush and rub it all across your teeth for 5-7 minutes and rinse off. Repeat this daily or atleast every alternate day for staying free from plaque.
2. Brush Using Salt
Use salt to massage your teeth and gums; this helps in removing plaque efficiently as well as it also strengthens the gums and the tooth cavity.
3. Oil Pulling
Oil pulling is a very ancient technique used to keep our teeth and gums healthy. It is done using coconut oil. You need to sip some coconut oil and gently swish it for 10 minutes so that it reaches every corner of your mouth. Make sure that you do not swallow the oil as it contains all sorts of bacteria and plaque debris. It is best to do this first thing in the morning after getting up.

7. White Vinegar
White vinegar is known to reduce and remove plaque. You need to dilute it before use. Mix 2 tablespoons of white food grade vinegar and mix it with half a glass of warm water. Use this mix to rinse your mouth; repeat twice a day for best results. In place of white vinegar, you can also use some lemon juice with salt and add it to warm water.
