Neem tablets are nowadays available as OTC medicine and prescribed by many medical practitioners for various purposes. However, before you start using them, you need to know about the side effects caused by them.

Side Effects Of Neem Tablets

Stomach Disorders

Neem is used to correct stomach problems. It is useful for promoting digestion and improving bowel movements. However, neem tablets can result in diarrhea. Therefore, people who have poor digestion are advised to avoid them. Many use this herbal product to improve digestion, but some might not benefit from it and suffer stomach discomfort.

Toxic Effects

People who have a medical history of kidney or liver problems should keep themselves away from this product. This is because the compunds found in neem tablets can result in harmful effects. Neem should not be consumed for a long time. In a few cases, side effects are possible with even short term ingestion of these tablets.

Affects Blood Sugar

Diabetic people should strictly turn away from this herbal tablet as it can interfere with blood sugar levels and cause severe hypoglycemia. It is generally said that people, who are scheduled for surgery should keep distance from it at least 2 weeks before surgery to avoid instability of sugar levels.

Unsafe For People With Autoimmune Diseases

Neem has antiseptic properties and is a wonderful natural immune booster. It is considered as a vital part of daily regime by many people for the benefit it offers. However, it can be harmful when people with autoimmune disease consume this because it will make the immune system more active and worsen the disease condition.

Infertility

Neem is a natural insecticide and pest repellent. When people who are trying for a baby consume neem in excess, it would increase the immune cells more than normal range. This is not favorable for people planning to conceive a baby. Literature says that this herb was used as a contraceptive in ancient days. So, it might affect the reproductive cycle and result in infertility.

Fatigue

Neem is generally considered an all cure remedy because of its medicinal properties. However, when a person takes this product when sick, it might make you more tired and weak. It is the property of neem tablet to make you feel a bit tired, so when you take higher than the approved numbers, you will feel more exhausted.

Unsafe For Pregnant Women

Neem tablets are not recommended for pregnant women. A study revealed that consuming this product can result in blood toxicity that can be fatal to the unborn. It can also result in miscarriage. So, pregnant and lactating women are advised to turn away from this herbal pills.
