Effective Home Remedies To Control Dandruff

Lemon Juice

Dandruff can cause itchiness and irritation of the scalp. Best remedy to tackle this problem is to use lemon juice. Squeeze juice out of 2 lemons and rub the undiluted lemon juice into the scalp. Leave it for some time and rinse it off with warm water.

After that add a tablespoon of lemon juice into a glass or mug of water depending on the length of your hair and rinse your hair with it. You can also add lemon juice to coconut oil and apply on to your hair on a daily basis. The citric acid in lemon juice restores the pH balance of the scalp.


Baking Soda

Baking soda is a natural exfoliate which helps in combating dandruff problem. Wet your hair first and rub a handful of baking soda thoroughly into the scalp. Rinse it properly, but without using any shampoo. Do this treatment before washing your hair. In few weeks you will see the dandruff vanishing away and your hair will feel softer too.


Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a powerful ingredient to ward off dandruff. The acetic acid present in vinegar helps in curing the dandruff problem. Use the diluted apple cider vinegar to apply on to your scalp at night using a cotton ball. Leave it overnight and wash your hair the next morning with a mild shampoo. Use vinegar water for the final rinse after shampooing.


Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds are excellent solutions to so many hair problems like hair fall and baldness including dandruff. Soak fenugreek seeds overnight in water, grind them to a paste in the morning and apply it on to your scalp and hair. Leave it for at least half an hour or until the paste gets dried and wash it off with warm water and a mild shampoo. Doing this regularly keeps dandruff at bay.


Beat Dandruff With Egg

Egg is a wonderful home remedy not only to condition your hair but to prevent dandruff too. Beat 2 eggs and dilute it with some water. Wet your hair and apply this egg pack on to your scalp and hair massaging gently. Keep this for 10-15 minutes and rinse it with warm water and a shampoo which can take away the smell of egg. Your hair becomes soft and dandruff free with this remedy.


Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a magical plant with anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which help in controlling dandruff. Take out fresh juice or gel from aloe leaves and apply on to your scalp and hair. Leave it for 15 minutes and wash off your hair with a mild shampoo. Do this remedy everyday to get dandruff free and healthy hair.


Yogurt

Yogurt is an effective home remedy to fight against dandruff. Take half a cup of yogurt and add few drops of lemon juice to it. Apply the mixture to your scalp thoroughly and massage it. Wash your hair after 20 minutes. You hair smells fresh and doing this remedy every 2-3 days will reduce the dandruff gradually.


Hibiscus

Hibiscus is one of the fool proof remedy for avoiding dandruff. Hibiscus is also used to get think, shiny black hair. Grind some hibiscus plant leaves to a paste; you can add flowers too. Apply on to your scalp and hair. Leave it for half and hour before rinsing it off. There is no need to use shampoo as hibiscus paste gives lot of foam. Apart from the above home remedies hot oil massages also help to control dandruff. Have balanced food and drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated and healthy which in turn takes care of dandruff problems.
