Lack of vitamin K leads to excessive bleeding and clotting. It is important for persons who have developed a pulmonary embolism to eat a healthy diet. Avoid excessive fats and cholesterol building foods in your diet. Interesting, because I was already swimming, walking and doing other exercise and eating spinach salads, broccoli and fish before a pulmonary embolism was found. If you ware taking a blood thinner such as Xarelto, do any of these natural foods have a bad interaction. I know that if you are taking Warfarin, you should not eat foods high in vitamin K, such as leafy greens. It is fine to eat leafy greens when taking Xarelto. But what about ginger and other blood thinning natural remedies? I can't take ibuprofen or other Nsaids because I am taking Xarelto and it may cause bleeding. What can we take for inflammation and pain? (Not Tylenol for me!).
