In the beginning, it manifests itself as a feeling of tiredness and weakness, eventually one may start feeling dizzy, confused, irritable and look pale. If caught early, anemia can be easily treated with home remedies alone. Even if you are on medication for anemia you need to supplement the medicines with home remedies.


Effective Home Remedies For Anemia

Honey

Honey contains iron and some other micro nutrients. To get rid of anemia you should take honey 2 or 3 times a day. Your first drink in the morning should be a glass of warm water with one or 2 table spoons of honey. Later in the day, you can take another glass of water with lemon juice, honey and apple cider vinegar. You need to take honey regularly if you are prone to anemia. This natural stuff will keep you anemia-free, provided it is sourced from an authentic place and is consumed every day.


Spinach

This green leafy vegetable tops the chart for its iron content. Every doctor and health practitioner swears by spinach for its anemia fighting property. The good news is that spinach is an integral part of the cuisine in most parts of the world. It contains loads of iron and folic acid.

If you are down with anemia, consume spinach every day in some form or the other. It can be eaten as a vegetable, a soup, or a stuffing in your breads. You can even make it a part of your salad.


Beat Root

Beetroot as well as its leaves are rich sources of iron. It is a versatile vegetable because it can be eaten in multiple ways. Use it as a stir fried vegetable or add it to your soups. You can make it a part of your delicious salad by boiling the whole beet without peeling it. If you peel it it will bleed its color and its nutrients out and you ill end up eating a bland salad.


Eat Lettuce And Celery

Lettuce has this extraordinary property that its iron content gets assimilated very quickly. Use lettuce and celery regularly in your salads. To fight anemia effectively, take celery juice mixed with carrot juice in equal quantities. Consume a cup of this juice twice a day.

Fenugreek Leaves

This wonderful green leafy vegetable can be eaten as a stir fired vegetable with potatoes added to it. It can look after the hemoglobin content in your blood thereby reducing your anemia. Start eating it regularly and you will develop a taste for this healthful and iron-rich vegetable.


Black Raisins

These wrinkled, black colored raisins may not appeal to you but they are fantastic sources of iron and copper. Buy fresh and healthy raisins, soak 5-10 of them in one cup of water at night. The next morning put them in a blender along with the water and blend them a little. Strain the bits of seeds and skin  and drink this tasteful liquid everyday as your first drink in the morning.


Drink Nutritious Vitamin C  Rich Kuices

The juices which are rich in vitamin c help in the absorption of iron that you have consumed with your diet. Oranges, apples, grapes, pineapple, lemons and mango juice can look after your requirement of vitamin C. You need to be careful if you are buying canned juices because they are not likely to be as good as the fresh juices. Make sure that you buy unsweetened juices, if going ahead with canned juices. But to fight your anemia effectively it is recommended that you consume fresh juices only.


Use Caste Iron Skillet

In many cultures across the world, cooking the food in iron skillet has been considered health; solely because the food gets traces of iron in natural form. It is best to use caste iron pan or skillet for this purpose. The foods which contain sour taste like curds, tomatoes and tamarind will draw the iron out of the skillet, other foods may not give you that benefit.

Yoga, exercises, massage and pranayam all help to increase your blood count. They promote general well being, increase appetite and discipline your mind. They improve the functioning of your organs like liver which is responsible for blood related health. even bathing with the water at room temperature is considered helpful in anemia.
