Best Herbal Remedies For Asthma Attack

Lobelia

Lobelia also known as Indian tobacco is a toxic herb, but if administered under a good herbalists’ supervision it can be the best cure for asthmatics.It is an anti spasmodic herb and is a good agent which causes dilation of air passages and hence results in deeper and stronger breathing. It can be taken in form of prescribed drops or the tea can be supervised.


Angelica

Angelica is significantly known to lower airway eosinophilia, loosen mucus and improve the immune system. It reduces airway stress related to asthma as it is clear inhibitor of inflammation in airways due to allergy.

Its roots are medicinally very efficient for usage. Take the tea derived from the roots in 3 doses during the day for two to three weeks.


Marshmallow

Marshmallow has been majorly used in the treatment of asthma. Marshmallow dislodges fluid from mucous membrane and relieves cough and other respiratory problems.

It contains anti-inflammatory compounds to improve complications of asthma related to colds and bronchitis. It also improves immune’s functioning to tolerate asthma attacks better. Heat dried marshmallow leaves in half a glass of water, sweeten it and drink this infusion thrice a day.


Slipper Elm

Slipper Elm is recommended for certain lung conditions, bronchitis, cough and tonsillitis etc. It helps to loosen the mucous in throat and augments bronchial secretions for improving lung functions.

It is prescribed in capsule or tea form to treat even the chronic conditions of asthma, as it prevents bronchial spasms. What makes it so valuable in the treatment of asthma is its anti-allergic and anti septic compound called oligomeric procyanidins.


Wild Cherry

It is a good anti spasmodic and anti tussive helpful in treating bronchitis, whooping cough and shortness of breath. It is often prescribed with other herbs for treatment of asthma.

It has prunasin content to strengthen bronchial linings. Though it is not a direct treatment for asthma but is very helpful in treating some symptoms of asthma, so it becomes a good aid in treating the ailment.


Boswellia

Bosewillic acid is an active anti inflammatory compound present in Bosewilia. It arrests leukotrienes that cause asthma and in this way it enhances immune to fight an asthma attack.

It gradually brings improvement in the symptoms of asthma and also brings down the number of asthma attacks over a period of time. 300 mgs of Bosewillia taken three times daily can improve breathing capacity also.
