Sterility is defined as the physiological inability of the male or the female partner to reproduce.  In men, the absence of living sperms in their semen is termed as sterility.Female sterility is a condition, which occurs when women are unable to bear a childeven after trying for several years. Infertility in women is noticed when she experiences several miscarriages.

1. Banyan Root

The root of the banyan tree is known to be an excellent treatment for sterility.Allow the root to dry well in the sun and then grind it to make into a powder.  Add this powder to about half a cup of milk and drink it early in the morning.

Doing this is known to be very helpful in getting rid of problems related to infertility. You should avoid drinking this during menstruation. This herbal remedy is recommended for about six months. This is a popular folk medicine, which is majorly used in India.

2. Mucuna Pruriens

Also known as, velvet bean, the extract of mucuna pruriens is used to treat sterility in men.  A number of bioactive constituents, especially Dopamine (L-DOPA) acts on the hypothalamus as well as anterior pituitary area of the brain, which work together to control spermatogenesis or the formation of sperm.

 Increased levels of dopamine optimize the hormone production including testosterone, which leads to an enhanced sex drive and performance.

3. Dong Quai

Another herb, which is effectual in regulating menstruation, is dong quai. Since it thins the blood, it should be avoided during menstruation.

You need to prepare a decoction of this herb by adding about two teaspoons of dong quai to water and allow it to boil

for about ten minutes and then filter and drink it regularly.

4. Chaste Berry

Chaste berry focuses on the pituitary gland and helps in maintaining the hormone levels. This herb is very useful for women who experience ovulation problemsdue to increased levels of prolactin in the body.

This herb is easily available indrug stores in the form of capsules, tinctures or liquid extracts. You can also use chaste berry by consuming the berries that are well dried.

5. Black Berry

Any disorder associated with ovarian or endometrial dysfunction or miscarriages can be rectified using the black berry herb. An infusion prepared with the tender and fresh leaves of black berry is a great remedy for sterility.

To prepare an infusion add twenty grams of fresh black berry leaves to about 250ml of water and boil it for about two hours. This infusion should be consumed with about two teaspoons of honey or buttermilk to effectively treat sterility.

6. Winter Cherry

Another valuable herb in treating sterility is winter cherry. To use this herb you need to grind it well into a powder.Take about six grams of this powdered extract and mix it well with a cup of milk. Drink this mixture for about five to six nights after your monthly periods to see beneficial results.
