6 Remedies For Delayed Periods

Irregular or delayed periods are very annoying thing for every woman. It is a total nightmare and mentally very frustrating. This condition will not only create a lot of tension and stress, but sometimes it might be an indication that there is something serious underlying. Periods is just not a normal occurrence, any changes like early periods or delayed period, little bleeding or heavy bleeding are all reasons of concern.

There may be several reasons why this might happen, it could be due to poor diet, under nourishment, weight loss or weight gain, pcod, anorexia, improper usage of birth control pills etc. Discussed below are a few herbal remedies for delayed periods.

Herbal Remedies For Delayed Periods

1. Parsley

Parsley is one of the most popular emmenagogue, which has been in use from ancient times as stimulant of the uterus in bringing on delayed periods.

Parsley contains apiol and myristicin, which are natural components well known to create contractions in the uterus enabling periods to occur. Parsley and parsley tea are known to stimulate menstrual periods.

 

2. Angelica Root

This root belongs to the Apiaceae family and helps to induce periods in delayed cases. This root has also been effective in treating cramps caused due to menstruation and problems during menopause.

You can consume this herb in the raw form or you can extract the liquid and consume it. Three to four milligram of this herb is suggested to regulate your periods. This herb has the properties of estrogen and hence it is an excellent remedy for starting periods in people, who have to deal with delayed periods.

3. Neem

Neem the most common herb known to possess numerous benefits is basically a blood purifier. It is because of this property, it is suggested to drink neem concoction, which acts as a tonic.

In order to regularize the menstrual cycle, it is recommended to drink a blend of hot water and neem bark three times a day, twenty minutes after having a meal. This procedure can be repeated until the periods become regular and the menstrual bleeding is normal.

4. Cilantro

The blood flow during menses is very important. In order to have regular blood flow during menstruation, you can consume a handful of cilantro leaves. You need to boil cilantro leaves in about 500 ml of water.

Allow it to boil until the water reduces to half the original quantity. Keep sipping it, preferably a couple of days prior to the expected date of periods. This herbal remedy is a great way to regularize the menstrual cycle and it acts on the situation very fast.

5. Yarrow

Yarrow is known to be an excellent remedy for conditions associated with menses including delayed periods. This is very effective in balancing the hormones found in the female body, which is responsible for stimulating menstruation.

Yarrow can be consumed in a tea form and it should be had about 3 to 4 times a day. This wonder herb also helps in relieving back pain and pelvic congestion associated with menstrual problem.

3. Banyan Tree Root

The root of the banyan tree is effective in the treatment of late and delayed periods. You need to prepare a decoction using the root of the banyan tree by extracting and boiling it.

You can then mix this blend with buttermilk and drink it before going to bed. This enables menstruation. This treatment is recommended for at least three consecutive menstrual-cycles and this will definitely work wonders in making your menstrual cycle regular and normal.
