5 Herbs For Measles

Measles (Rubella) is a highly contagious viral disease caused due to a virus called Morbilli. It is very common in childhood and almost all children go through this disease worldwide unless vaccination is done. This disease mostly occurs in winters followed by cough, fever, runny nose, watery eyes, red patches on skin, full-body rashes, etc.

Fortunately there are some excellent herbs which help fight against inflammation caused due to measles and help them heal properly and rapidly. However, if you observe any kind of problem with any of these treatments please stop it immediately and seek a professional medical advice.

Herbs To Treat Measles

Burdock Root

Burdock roots are a preferred herbal medicine for treatment of various health problems since ancient times due to its excellent anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory properties. Though its roots, leaves, and seeds all are used for herbal treatments, roots are preferred the most for treatment of measles and boils.

Boil one tablespoon of dried Burdock root dried powder with two glasses of water for 15-20 minutes. Sip it throughout the day to develop immunity against bacteria and fungus of measles and get rid from this disease. A cup of this solution can also be added in bathing water for anti-viral effect and limiting the skin inflammation caused due to measles.

Barley Grass

Barley grass is one of the most preferred anti-inflammatory herb to treat diseases caused due to inflammation, allergy, bacteria, etc. Barley water gives relief against heavy coughs during measles.

Bath with barley water or sponge with it can also give relief from itching and irritation caused in skin due to measles. It will help you or your baby fight against bacteria of measles and limit the infection to further spread out.

Neem Leaves

Neem is a default remedy for measles and should be taken with any treatments going on for measles. Keep neem leaves in the room of patient and even spread some leaves on his bed. Also, boil neem leaves with water and allow it to come at normal temperature.

Use this water to sponge the patient or add it to the bathing water. Neem is an excellent anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, antiviral herb, which will give relief from itching and irritation of skin and limit bacteria and infection to further spread.

Echinacea Purpurea

Echinacea purpurea is well-known to boost the immune system. It is believed to have numbing sensation that heals cold sores and gives relief from heavy coughs during measles. Echinacea is most effective on infections and limiting the diseases of measles when taken with some antiseptic herbs such as goldenseal or Oregon grape.

This combination works miraculously in limiting the germs of measles and healing the disease rapidly. You can use a few drops of its tincture in bathing water or to sponge in order to get rid of itching and discomfort caused during measles.

Astragalus Root

It is well known Chinese herb having excellent anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties. It strengthens the body against viral infections through stimulation of interferon production in the body.

You can take its dried powder to prepare herbal tea or simply use its tincture for sponging and bathing purposes to get rid of itching and discomfort of skin. Its intake will limit the bacteria and inflammation of measles and give you relief.
