Effective  Home Remedies for Diabetes

Beans

Tagged as a ‘superfood’, beans are known to contain fiber, magnesium, and potassium which help in treatment of diabetes. A member of the legume family, beans contain high levels of protein which slows down the digestion process aiding in the insulin production.

If you have no access to fresh beans then you can opt to have canned beans that contain the same level of nutrients as fresh beans. Include beans in salads and soups on a daily basis and this can help in the prevention of diabetes.


Cinnamon

While suffering from diabetes, take approximately 1 teaspoon of cinnamon on a daily basis. This helps in lowering cholesterol and the blood sugar levels considerably.

Cinnamon is known to contain water-soluble polyphenol type-A polymer and also high level of mineral magnesium, which helps in treatment of diabetes.


Honey

One of the most common diabetes treatment foods is honey. Containing a compound called propolis, honey helps in the insulin production.

Though eating raw honey is one option, other options is to combine it with certain drugs that helps in improving glycemic control. Physicians also recommend applying honey to foots ulcers, which often affect diabetic patients and assists in the treatment.


Garlic

While suffering from diabetes, include garlic in your diet regime. It helps in controlling the glycemic response of the body, hence, doctors recommend a daily ingestion of raw garlic. In case you cannot do so, then use garlic in meals and soups on a daily basis.


Vinegar

Using vinegar in meals can help in decreasing the blood sugar levels. You can either opt to flavor their daily food with vinegar to improve the glycemic control which mainly happens because vinegar contains high levels of acetic acid. Diabetic patients can add apple cider vinegar to their meals and drinks to help in their condition and control the high sugar levels.


Green Tea

Considered to be one of the ancient treatments for diabetes, green tea is a natural method to keep the blood sugar levels in check. Green tea contains a compound known as tea catechins, a potent antioxidant which improves the blood sugar levels and controls the condition within a short span of time. It is also known to lower the hemoglobin A1c within a short period of a three months.


Broccoli

One of the richest high fiber vegetables, broccoli is an important food item for diabetic sufferers. It slows digestion and prevents spikes in blood sugar levels which can create diabetes complications.

One can prepare broccoli by either cooking with oil and salt or steaming it either way it is healthy and very effective in diabetes treatment.
