6 Remedies For Open Pores

Share

Enlarged or open pores are one of the common problems faced by people as they grow old. Individuals with extremely oily skin usually face this problem. Open pores are also genetically inherited. In such cases, nothing much can be done to remove them permanently.

Nevertheless, one can take a few essential steps to diminish the pore size, thereby preventing pimples and acne on their skin. There are plenty of effective home remedies available to tighten open pores.

Useful Home Remedies For Open Pores

Pore Cleansing Facial Wash

Use a natural pore-cleansing face wash to cleanse your face daily. Mix water (1/2 cup), whole milk (1/4 cup), baking soda (2 tbsp), egg white (one) in a bowl. These ingredients will clean the pores and also kills the surface bacteria, which clog them. Gently massage this mixture on your face. Rinse well with tepid water.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera can be used to tone and moisturize your face. It is well-known for its natural pore-tightening properties. Moreover, due to its toning, moisturizing, blemish-controlling and balancing properties of Aloe Vera, it is used extensively to treat problematic skin.

The aloe gel can be obtained from the leaf of the plant. Squeeze the sap from the leaf into a bowl and apply this on your face. Allow it to dry for a few minutes and then rinse your face.

Pore-Tightening Mask

Regular application of the pore-closing mask will tone and tighten the skin. The ingredients required for the mask are: honey (1/4 cup), lemon juice and baking soda (both 2 tbsp). Mix all the ingredients together and apply all over the face.

Allow the mask to tighten and close the pores for about 5 to 7 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and then with cold water, which will further tighten the open pores. The mask must be used 2 times in a week for effective results. The baking soda and honey in the mask will tone the skin. The lemon juice will help in getting rid of dead skin that can clog the pores.

Ice

You can dramatically shrink the size of the pores by applying ice. The pores open due to heat, whereas cold closes them. Rub the ice cube all over, after cleansing the face, which will contract and close the pores. Make sure not to leave the ice for a long period, as it can damage the skin. Repeat this process, each time you clean your face in order to tone and tighten the pores.

Tomato

The toning agents in tomato help in reducing the pore size. Apply tomato juice regularly on the face and leave for about 20 minutes. This will shrink the pores and they appear visibly smaller.

Sandalwood powder or calamine can be added to tomato juice to tone the skin, which will help in reducing the pore size. Besides this, the facial mask also decreases the production of sebum, which in turn reduces the size of these pores.

Honey

Honey is quite effective in toning and reducing the oiliness. It can be used in face masks or you can directly apply to the skin. Mix sugar and lemon juice to honey before applying it. Massage this on the face and leave for a few minutes. Later, rinse with tepid water.
