Mothers can use simple home remedies which is easily affordable and free from all side effects as their child’s skin is very sensitive. Salt Water Gargle

One can treat with salty water to get ease from strep throat. If your child is able to gargle then in Luke warm water add a teaspoon of salt. Then ask the child to gargle with the water and spit out the water. It will help to reduce soreness and pain from the throat.

Bathing with Oatmeal

A child suffering from scarlet fever tends to develop severe rashes on their skin. Oatmeal bathing may help in soothing the skin and provide relieve from the itchiness. One can add 2 cups of oatmeal’s with ½ teaspoon of baking soda in a bucket of warm water. It helps to reduce and numb the rash.

The baking soda added will provide immediate relief from inflammation caused due to rashes. Oatmeal contains anti inflammatory and antibacterial properties that will reduce the infection to a great extent.

 

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar contains anti- inflammatory properties that help to reduce inflammation caused in the body due to scarlet fever and rashes. One can consume apple cider vinegar as it helps to soothe the sore throat and provides ease from the infection caused due to bacteria.

One can add 1-2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and honey in a glass of warm water. This kind of mixture will help to reduce the infection and kills the strep infection. Make sure that the water is just warm it’s not hot for the child to drink. Drinking apple cider vinegar 2-3 times a day will provide him with relief to a great extent.

Eucalyptus Oil

Another effective remedy to reduce scarlet fever at home is use of eucalyptus oil. It is a way natural of controlling the symptoms such as cold, chills and fever. It also helps to reduce the soreness of the throat. It contains bactericidal properties that help to reduce infectious illness. One can use eucalyptus oil in different way. We can use the oil as steam inhaler.

Mix few drop of eucalyptus oil in hot water and take its steam to alleviate the pain. Another way is use eucalyptus oil could be combined with chamomile and lavender oil in bath water. It helps to reduce fever and itchiness caused by the rashes occurred due to scarlet fever.

Aloe Vera

One can reduce rashes occurred due to scarlet fever with help Aloe Vera gel. One can extract the gel of from Aloe Vera plant and apply on the child’s skin.

Aloe Vera contains anti inflammatory and antiseptic properties that helps in healing and repairing the damaged skin. Apply it gently on the sensitive rashes of the child and leave it for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse it with cold water. It will help in reducing the discomfort and will help in easing the itchiness.

Increase the Intake of Fluids

A child suffering from scarlet fever should try and increase the intake of drinking water. Water helps the toxins to flush out. We should try and gives minimum 1-2 liters to the child day.

Try to give them warm fluids as it will help them to kill the infection. Fluids will also help provide ease to the throat and will help soothe their throat. Try giving them more of soups and juices to make their consumption much easier.

 

Paste of Neem Leaves

One can reduce the rashes and discomfort occurred in a child due to scarlet fever by forming a thick neem paste. Neem leaves contains antibacterial and anti viral properties that helps to reduce the infection caused by the bacteria. One can extract the leaves of neem plants and make a thick paste from it.

Then apply the paste of the child rashes. It will help to reduce the inflammation caused by the rashes. Keep the paste for sometime as it will soothe the child’s skin and will reduce the burnt sensation and itchiness. Rinse it will cotton balls dipped in water after sometime. If can also apply neem oil mixed with other essential oil on the rashes to reduce itchiness.

Consumption of Elderflower Tea

One can consume elderflower tea to eradicate the symptoms of fever and sore throat caused due scarlet fever. In a cup of boiling water add few dried elder leaves and allow it to boil for 20 minutes. Then strain the liquid and add some amount of honey for taste. Make the child drink it 2-3 times in day.

Honey helps to boost its immunity system and helps in further spreading of the disease. It is best in reducing high temperatures and will also reduce the soreness from the strep throat. It helps in the quick recovery of the patient and helps in curbing the infection .
