Herbal Remedies For Breast Pain

Breast pain is also known as mastalgia. This medical condition can affect both men and women. In case of women, breast pain can occur during menstruation, menopause, pregnancy and puberty. Causes associated with breast pain include anatomical changes, hormonal changes and weight gain etc.

Breast pain is of three types viz. cyclic breast pain, non-cyclic breast pain and chest wall pain. Chest wall pain is the pain that affects the muscles and tissues beneath the breast.

Cyclic breast pain has been found to be a common problem. Pain in the breast can be within or beneath the breast. The pain varies from case to case. It can be a mild pain or can lead to a severe case. Herbal remedies can be used for the treatment of pain associated with breast. These methods are natural and are safe to use.


Herbal Remedies For Breast Pain

Evening Primrose Oil

Evening primrose oil can be used for the treatment of breast pain. It has been found to be a good remedy as it contains GLA (Gamolenic Acid) as an active ingredient which gets deficient due to the problem of breast pain.

Two hundred and forty to three hundred and twenty milligrams of evening primrose on a daily basis is recommended to the patients suffering from breast pain. Continue using this remedy for up to three months for effective results.


Flaxseed

Flaxseed is beneficial for the patients suffering from breast pain. It can be used in crushed form. It can be used in the crushed form. Consumption of two tablespoons of flaxseed in crushed form on a daily basis is recommended.

Continue using this remedy for three months for better results. It is considered to be helpful in treating cyclic breast pain. One should consult the doctor for proper dosage and likely side effects.


Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds are beneficial for the patients suffering from breast pain. Take pumpkin seeds and boil them. Add a small quantity of onion in it. Add forty to fifty fresh leaves of neem herb in it. Afterwards, cool the mixture and add two to three teaspoons of petroleum jelly in it to prepare a paste.

Massaging this paste over the affected area one to two times would be recommended. This herbal remedy has been found to be very helpful for treating muscular pain and tenderness of breast.


Asafoetida

Asafoetida is useful for treating breast pain. Take half teaspoon of asafoetida and add it in one egg yolk to prepare a paste. Application of this mixture over the affected area using finger tips would be beneficial.

This mixture can be massaged two to three times. After application, leave it as such for around eight to ten minutes. This herbal remedy has been found to be very effective in treating breast pain.


Mint

Mint is beneficial for the treatment of symptoms associated with breast pain. Leaves of mint herb have been found to have medicinal properties. The mint leaves can be used in the herbal tea prepared using ginger.

This remedy is beneficial in reducing the pain associated with breast disease. It is useful in reducing swelling and soreness of breast. The herbal tea prepared from mint leaves along with ginger is effective in eliminating toxic materials out of the body.


Juniper

Juniper is a beneficial herb for treating breast pain. It can be used in the form of essential oil. It is a natural herb having diuretic properties. Take few drops of juniper oil and add them in bath water.

Another method of using juniper oil is to mix it with grape seed or almond oil. Take six drops of juniper oil and add them in one tablespoon of either grape seed oil or almond oil. Massaging this oil mixture over the breast in circular motion is recommended.


Parsley Tea

Parsley tea is helpful in the treatment of patients suffering from breast pain. It is an effective remedy helpful for treating tenderness and swelling of breast.

To prepare the tea, take one teaspoon of parsley herb and add it in one cup of boiled water. Soak the ingredients for around seven minutes. Consumption of this herbal tea would be beneficial for the patients of breast pain.


Raspberry

Raspberry is a medicinal herb helpful for the treatment of breast pain. Red raspberry has beneficial properties that are useful for the patients. Tea can be prepared from raspberry herb. Consumption of this herbal tea during menstruation is effective in treating tenderness associated with breast pain.

This herb has anti-inflammatory properties that are beneficial in balancing the level of hormones. It is a good natural remedy that provides relief from inflammation caused due to breast disease.


Dandelion

Dandelion is a useful herb which has medicinal properties beneficial for the patients suffering from breast pain. It has diuretic properties and is considered to be a great herb having healing properties. It can also be taken in the form of capsule. Root of this herb has been found to have beneficial properties. The dandelion root can be used to prepare tea.

Take the root of dandelion herb and prepare powder from it. This powdered form can be used for preparing the herbal tea. Take two to three teaspoons of this powdered form and add them in one cup of boiled water. Soak for around fifteen minutes. Taking three cups of the dandelion tea on a per day basis is recommended.


Chestberry And Red Clover Tea

Chestberry is a well known medicinal herb used for treating diseases since ancient times. It is also referred to as Vitex. This herb is useful in changing the hormonal levels in the body that are responsible for the production of estrogen.

This remedy is effective in providing relief from the symptoms associated with breast pain. It should be used on a daily basis. Care should be taken while using this herb as it can cause various side effects like acne, fatigue, nausea, rashes etc.

Red clover tea is helpful for the treatment of breast pain. It is effective in maintaining the hormonal levels. Tea prepared from red clover has medicinal properties. Consumption of this herbal tea is recommended. It is useful in softening the breast lumps as well.
