Dry skin give signs of aging, finelines, enlargement of skin pore and sagged skin so treatment of dry skin should be taken immediately. Dry skin can be caused due to the ageing, deficiency of vitamins and minerals, use of chemical based creams or change in weather.

The application of herbs can help you to get rid of dry skin. Some of the useful herbs in this regard are mentioned below:

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera contains water, essential oils, minerals, amino acids, enzymes and glycoprotein that give a glowing skin and the dryness is removed from the skin. The moisture of the skin gets retained by applying aloevera.

The gel that comes from the aloe Vera leaf can be applied on the minor burns and cuts as well. Aloe Vera can be grown easily at your home as it will become a plant by just planting its leaf.


Calendula

Calendula contains resin, carotenoids, essential oils, saponins and sterol that gave moisture to the skin and moisturized skin will always glow. The arnica herb is of the calendula family only. This herb is good for the treatment of inflammated skin.


Chamomile

The chamomile herb gives very good soothing effects and heals the dry skin. So you can put the herb in your bathing water. The chamomile should be dipped in water for sometime before taking a bath.

The effects will be very good if you soak the fresh or dry chamomile in a pouch and then that pouch should be dipped in hot water for ten to fifteen minutes. Add cold water before taking the bath into it.


Sage leaf

Sage leaf contains resin, essential oil and tannin. Vitamin A and C are also found in this herb which is very good for the dry skin. It has medicinal and antiseptic properties as well.


Lavender

The lavender contains pheromones, regeneration agents. The oil of lavender can be extracted and applied on the kin to remove its dryness.

The lavender oil is used for aromatherapy and it gives nourishment and energy to the skin which makes it radiant.


Tea Tree Oil

The tea tree oil is very effective for the treatment of dry skin. The tea tree oil should be mixed with your daily use cream and should be applied to get a smooth and soft skin.


Hyssop

The herb hyssop contains flavonoids, phenolic acids, lactones and ketones and has a very good astringent.

This herb removes the dryness from the face and it can be rubbed for minor cuts and bruises. The hyssop should be used in smaller quantity only.


Oats

Oats contains soluble silica, zinc, iron and manganese. This is a very nutritive herb and a good tonic for the skin. The oats can be applied on the skin to remove its dryness. Eczema and acne can be treated with the oats. The dried oats are also being used in various cosmetic preparations.
