Gastritis is the inflammation in the walls of the stomach. This is due to excessive consumption of liquor or long term use of non-steroidal drugs like aspirin or brufen.The infection in gastritis is primarily caused due to the infection by the helicobacter pylori. The initial symptom of gastritis is pain in the lower abdomen.

Acute gastritis is gastric mucosal erosion that is caused due to the damage of the mucosal defenses whereas chronic gastritis is a wide term and it includes all the problems of the gastric tissues. Chamomile

The herb chamomile is the most effective and safe herb for the treatment of gastritis. This herb has anti-inflammatory, pain relieving and anti-bacterial properties which make it good for the problem of gastritis. The anti-bacterial nature prevents the growth of helicopter pylori in the stomach.

This herb provides relief from the pain in the abdomen and soothes the injured mucus membrane. You can take chamomile in the form of tea, tablets or an extract of the flowers of the chamomile. The flowers of this herb have proven their effectiveness as they are used in many medicinal formations.


Marshmallow Root

The roots of marshmallow were earlier used for the treatment of sore throats, constipation, mouth ulcers but now you can use it for the treatment of gastritis also. This herb contains polysaccharides that make mucilage after its exposure to moisture. This form helps to cure the problem of gastritis. Slippery Elm

The herb slippery elm also has the same mucilage properties like marshmallow roots. This property makes it an effective herb for the treatment of gastritis.

Cinnamon herb is widely used for the treatment of indigestion, acidity and inflammation. This spice is carminative and helps to give relief from intestinal gas. This herb kills all the microbes that are responsible for gastritis.

The inflammation in the intestine is caused by the E. Coli bacterium and this herb eliminates these bacteria and reduces inflammation. You can take this herb in the form of dried powder, tea, capsules or as a spice in your preparations. This herb will also add flavor to your cooking.
