Many people have pain in hands and it may be temporary or chronic affecting the normal hand movements. Several factors that can cause pain in hands, it may be due to arthritis, carpel tunnel syndrome, sprain or bone fracture. The general symptoms include strain in hands, swelling and pain in the muscles. Further stretching of hands can cause more strain. Determining the cause for pain is important to start the treatment.

Boswellia

The extracts of Boswellia have powerful pain relief effects. It is a vascular supporting herb. It opens up constricted blood vessels and reduces pain by increasing blood flow to the affected parts. The boswellic acid present in Boswellia plant interferes with the production of leukotrienes, which is responsible for causing pain and inflammation.

It blocks the chemical reaction involved with inflammation and reduces it. It is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome and other stress injuries in hands.

Devil’s Claw

Devil’s claw root extract is used to treat hand pain. Take 4-5 grams of dried plant roots, prepare a decoction by adding water, and take it. It can be used in the form of tea, capsule or tincture.

Iridoid glycosides called harpogosides is the key ingredient present in the secondary roots of Devil’s claw, which is effective in treating the pain. It has anti-inflammatory properties, which makes it effective in reducing pain. It is a traditional African herbal medicine used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, skin problems and various other conditions of pancreas, kidney and gall bladder.

Cat’s Claw

It is called the queen of healing herbs used for curing several conditions. It can be taken in capsule form or as an herbal tea. It has anti-inflammatory properties and reduces swelling in hands due to arthritis. It boosts the immune system.

It helps reduce pain and swelling in the joints. It contains alkaloids that stop the activation of substances responsible for causing inflammation in the body. It has antioxidant properties. It is used to treat several arthritis conditions. It relieves pain related to physical activities.

Willow Bark

It has a longest history of treating inflammation. It works as a natural analgesic and is used to treat pain and swelling. It shows promising results in treating osteoarthritis related to knees, back, hands and neck. It can be taken as tea or in tablet form. Tincture form can be used externally for pain management.

This is one of the best herbal pain relief remedies. It provides effects similar to low aspirin dose. Willow bark tea can be taken three to four times a day. You should use chopped bark for preparing bark tea and not bark powder. Add ginger to the decoction to activate willow bark properties effectively. It contains salicylates, which have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. It is good for carpel tunnels syndrome and arthritis pain.

Meadowsweet

It is a powerful pain reliever and has anti-inflammatory properties.  It has high salicylic acid content, which has the ability to alleviate pain. It is best herbal remedy to ease pain in fixed location especially when it is very severe.

You can take 2 teaspoons of fried bark powder three times a day. To suppress bitterness, you can take sweeteners or lemonade along with it. It is effective in treating carpel tunnel syndrome. It has anti-inflammatory, astringent, and diaphoretic properties.
