Herbal Remedies For Irregular Periods

Certain abnormal changes in hormone levels and their activities have led to unprecedented changes in menstrual cycle. Irregular periods characterize and define the lifestyle of contemporary women and cause major discomfort and inconveniences in their day to day activities.

Given below are some easy herbal remedies which help in the natural treatment of irregular periods and save women from the trauma of treating the same clinically.


Herbal Remedies For Irregular Periods

Ginger In Sugar Solution

Concoction of ginger with water and sugar is a very simple tonic which helps in regularizing periods. Ground a small piece of ginger and boil it in a cup of water for some time. Add a pinch of sugar and take this infusion daily after meals.


Neem

The bark of Neem tree is very useful in purifying blood and in regularizing the menstrual cycle. Soak a small piece of neem overnight, strain it in the morning and drink the residue for best results.


Mint and honey

Mix one teaspoon of powdered mint leaves along with a teaspoon of honey and take it thrice daily


Dang GUI Plant Of China

The roots of Dang GUI plant of China invigorates blood circulation and relieves pain. It is highly recommended for curing all problems related to menstruation.


Chaste Tree

Chaste Tree is another wonderful herb that is used to treat the abnormalities of menstrual cycle. Berries of this tree are typically tinctured and powdered and used in capsule form.


Cinnamon

Cinnamon is very effective in treating delayed periods. Half teaspoon of finely grounded cinnamon with one cup of milk, taken every night, leads to the prevention of irregular periods.


Banyan roots

A decoction made out of aerial roots of Banyan is also very helpful. It can be consumed with half a glass of cow’s milk at bedtime.


Mugwort

Mugwort is a commonly used for curing irregular periods. It can be added to tea to reduce its bitterness.


Coriander And Fennel Seeds

Soak coriander or fennel seeds in a glass of water and keep overnight. This water should be strained and consumed in the morning on an empty stomach for good results.


Cumin And Sesame Seeds

A decoction of Cumin seeds and Sesame seeds helps to set off all menstrual problems. This decoction can be made by boiling 1 teaspoon of each seed with a glass of water. Cool the mixture and sweeten it with jaggery. Take this twice a day during periods.


Radish Seeds With Buttermilk

A fine paste of 1 teaspoon of Radish Seeds with a cup of Buttermilk can be taken daily to limit problems of menstruation.


Aloe Vera juice

Aloe Vera juice is believed to cure all periods problems. It needs to be taken daily for effective results.Bitter gourd, Grapes, Carrots and Beetroot are very useful in treating menstrual cycle. Juice of any one of these is to be taken for at least three months for positive results.

Nutritional deficiencies disturb the normal menstrual cycle. Herbs and natural ingredients rich in protein and iron go a long way in alleviating the problems caused by irregular periods.
