It is a horrible feeling to be bearing scorching heat wave and as if that was not enough you are constantly exposed to the damaging effects on skin. A regular confrontation to sun gets you a browner and tanned skin due to UV effects.

When Mother Nature gave us sun to tan, she gave us hundreds of herbs to get the tan cured. Here are a few herbal treatments you can give to your skin to get the tan off your skin.

Lemon

Vitamin C and citric acid are best known to retard tanning of skin. Lemon has both the contents to lighten the tan. Lemon juice and curd paste ensures a good skin exfoliation to bring out the fresh new light colored skin from under the skin.

Turmeric

Turmeric has acidic properties similar to lemon. Beat a little curd with turmeric powder to cover it on tanned skin area. Leave this application for 30 minutes, and then wash it off with cold water.

Acidic and anti-oxidant property along with Vitamin C nutrition will remove tanning and dead skin cells to impart a fresh glow with lighter melanin to the skin.


Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a wonderful herb remedy for sun burned skin. Grab a bottle of gelled aloe from a health store. They are purely natural and use no additive chemicals, fragrances or moisturizers.

Pour this gel in your ice tray for those soothing cold cubes to be rubbed over the browned skin from the sun. Aloe vera can lighten your skin in as little as a week, but remember that aloe makes your skin photosynthetic, so always apply a sunscreen when seeking this remedy for curing tan.


Mashed Papaya

A green papaya is a clever tan clean out. Pulverize a milky green papaya without peeling the skin and extract the juice. Apply this on the blotched skin daily. For a fast action, apply this several times a day. The wart will be much lighter in just one week. The enzyme called papain is known to work on toughest of the warts and bring back the normal color of the skin.


Orange Peels

Put the orange peels to work. The oil in the peel is perfect for those dark patches, and is very good in beauty department. Dry a few orange peels in sun and powder them.

For a mask mix it with curd to make a thick paste. Rub it on the tanned skin and leave it for half hour. Gently wash it off with plain water. Because of the anti-oxidant properties and presence of rich carotenes, the dark blotch from sun fades off easily.


Cucumber

Blend a skinned cucumber and add drops of half a lemon. Apply this all over the affected skin and relax for 30 minutes and rinse it off.

Cucumber flesh is mostly water, and has ascorbic acid, vitamin C and caffeic acid which can help soothe darkened melanin from sun.


Tomato

Tomatoes are very persuasive dark patch removers. Tomatoes are full of anti-oxidants, lycopene and vitamin A, making it active against dark melanin. Blend one tomato and mix a few drops of lemon. Apply this pack and leave it to dry. Wash it off with water to lighten tanned skin.
