Throat obstruction is a throat disorder that gives a scratchy and blockage feeling and at times coarse effect to the voice. When a person senses a lump in the throat or any kind of interference in the throat while eating, speaking, drinking, or using the throat for swallowing anything, it is the obstruction in the throat creating difficulties for the person.

These are the symptoms of throat obstruction are wheezing, gagging, vomiting, drooling, breathing heavily, pain in the throat, chest and abdominal regions, and also change in voice. The causes of the problem are; infection, mucus, enlarging of thyroid, abnormal growth of a bone or something in the throat. There are several herbs to treat the disorder and the most recommended herbal remedies for throat obstruction are;

Various Herbal Remedies For Throat Obstruction

Allium Schoenoprasum

The herb is very well known as chives and it has various nutritional values. It helps in various conditions apart from throat problems and can be consumed on a daily basis for the overall well being of the throat, eyes and other necessary benefits. Take 1 tablespoon of chives and chop them, then mix it with some food while cooking or consume it raw. Have at least 3 g of the herb regularly.

Arctium

Arctium is also known as niubangzi and is one of the well known herbal remedies for throat obstruction. It has a tendency to relieve the pain from the surface by gradually removing the obstruction from the throat.

Apart from this, the herb is also known to cure H1N1 fever. You can have around 75 mg of the herb twice a day until the obstruction is gone.

Sophara Tonkinensis

The herb Sophara tonkinensis is also known as Subprostrata and it is a very well known Chinese medicine for treating various diseases. It is a gastrointestinal medication as well as a synthetic derivative of sophoradin.

It is cultivated in China and is recommended by doctors to be beneficial for patients suffering from sore and painful throat. However, as the herb is to be consumed only on taking a proper physician’s advice.

Bidens Pilosa

Bidens pilosa is a flowering herb. It is also known as Spanish needles, stickseeds, beggarticks and by some other names. The dosage of the herb is 30 to 90 mg, if unsure, taking a doctor’s advice would be essential.

The herb should be taken daily for weeks until the throat heals completely. Not much is heard about the herb being used for purposes other than throat difficulties. In China, traditional medicine practitioners use this herb with other herb as a supplement to add to the functionality of their medicines.

Scutelleria

Scutelleria is also known as Skullcap and it is among the most important herbal remedies for throat obstruction. The root of this herb is used for the treatment of diseases like cancer, anxiety, liver difficulties, etc.

The patient is advised to grind the roots and consume the paste. The dosage is to take a dose of 3 to 9 gram regularly 1 or 2 times a day. The dose is to be continued as long as the obstruction in the throat lasts.
