The recession of gums can lead to severe infection in the mouth. As the gums recedes, they leave behind gaps between the teeth and that leads to the growth of bacteria and other germs. This bacterial growth can cause serious damage to the tissues if not treated properly. You do not always need to visit a dentist if you are suffering from receding gums as there are many simple natural remedies to treat this problem effectively.

Various Herbs For Gum Recession

Green Tea

Green tea is a rich source of natural antioxidants and hence can be used as an effective herb for gum recession. Green tea is known to be the cure of numerous health problems and drinking a cup of green tea every day early in the morning will keep your gums and teeth healthy.

Green tea is made in the same way as normal black tea. Green tea will reduce the inflammation and also help to get rid of the infectious bacteria thereby preventing further infection and bad breath.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is also a natural anti inflammatory and antibacterial agent and hence can give you relief from gum recession. Take a fresh aloe vera leaf and slit it vertically. Scoop out the gel and use this gel to brush your teeth every day.

You can also use this gel as an effective mouthwash and wash your mouth with this gel after every meal. This will give you relief from gum inflammation and also kill the bacteria.

Lemon Oil

Lemon should not be applied directly to the gums as lemon can erode the enamel. Make an infusion instead. Heat a mixture of olive oil and lemon juice over low heat for about a week.

Lemon being antibacterial and antiseptic will remove all the bacteria and prevent tooth decay and gum recession effectively. Use this infusion to swish your mouth. Lemon will also help in the growth of new tissues which means the damaged tissues would be replaced by new healthy tissues.

Eucalyptus Oil

Eucalyptus oil being one of the essential oils keeps the gums healthy. It is also anti-inflammatory in nature and can treat swollen gums as well. It kills the bacteria present in the mouth and prevents many gums diseases.

Take few drops of eucalyptus oil and add a little water. Massage this mixture on your gums every day to cure gum recession and prevent further infection. Eucalyptus oil also stimulates the growth of new tissues.

Cloves Or Tea Tree Oil

Cloves have been in use since centuries to treat various teeth and gum problem. Clove oil has antibacterial and antifungal agents that can heal decayed teeth and also prevent infection. Keep a clove inside your mouth for few hours every day or massage your gums with clove oil.

Clove also encourages the growth of new tissues to replace damaged tissues. You can also massage your gums with mixture of tea tree oil and water to get results. These are only few herbs for gums recession. Even herbs like sage, yarrow, sesame oil etc are also beneficial.
