Herbs For Hyperactivity

Hyperactivity is described as a physical state of excess activity manifested as nervousness, random movement, difficulty in concentrating or focusing on a particular task, excessive talking, etc. In recent years, Hyperactivity is diagnosed in both adults and children. Mental diseases and other medical conditions have hyperactivity as a symptom.

Hyperactivity may lead to difficulties in concentration and inability to stay still in one place. It may strain the relationship with family and friends. Accidents and Injury may also happen. A Hyperactive person is often depressed or anxious because of his condition. Constant hyperactivity is stressful to the brain. Natural remedies are best to calm the nervous system, reduce hyperactivity, increase focus and reduce mood swing.


Various Herbs For Hyperactivity

Brahmi

Brahmi is a herb extensively used in natural medications. Brahmi is known to enhance cognitive function. It can help to increase learning abilities, and provide the health benefit of protecting brain damage from free radicals.

The use of Brahmi (Bacopa monnien) can impact attention, focus, mental acuity, memory and learning. Use Brahmi oil to massage the head and body during bed time. Just pour a teaspoon of oil into your palm and massage the child gently. Just massaging the feet of the child is also beneficial. The child will have a trouble-free sleep as Brahmi is a good relaxant.


German Chamomile

Chamomile is a natural herb proves to be safe in promoting calmness and relaxation. Apart from promoting relaxation, chamomile treats sleep patterns, and problems related to hyperactivity such as impulsiveness and distraction.

Chamomile is taken in the form of tea to reduce hyperactivity. Prepare Chamomile tea by combining two teaspoons of dried Chamomile herb into a cup of boiling water. Strain tea into a coffee mug and consume three to four times a day in between meals.


Lemon Balm

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) is also known as balm mint. It is used as anxiolytic, calming agent and a mild sedative. Lemon Balm can help you to reduce stress, reduce hyperactivity, helps to sleep because of its calming effects on the nervous system.

Lemon herb is taken as a tea to reduce hyperactivity. Mix a teaspoon of dried lemon herb with a cup of hot water. Strain into a cup and consume this tea four times per day. This tea works best in reducing anxiety, nervousness and fidgeting.


Rosemary And Sage

Rosemary and Sage are fragrant herbs. Add a small amount of rosemary and sage oil to olive oil and apply this topically to children massaging gently.

This scent can help a hyperactive child to calm. Inhaling the scents of rosemary and sage helps to produce mental calmness. These scents can also be used in the environment.


Valerian

Valerian is another beneficial herb for treating hyperactivity. It is used as a medicinal herb in treating a variety of ailments like restlessness, fidgeting, anxiety, insomnia, etc.

Valerian contains gamma aminobutyric acid, which works by calming anxiety and regulating the nervous system. To treat hyperactivity, a tea can be made from the dry Valerian root. Boil a cup of water and add a teaspoon of dry Valerian root, boil for five minutes and strain it into a cup, and drink this tea four times a day
