Body odor is a common problem that occurs due to excessive sweaty and unhealthy lifestyle. In most cases, people suffering from body odor try to eliminate it with perfumes and body deodorants.
But in extreme cases, body odor cannot be eliminated with over-the-counter products. To eliminate the condition, one can try treatments that are made of natural ingredients.
Body odor is mainly produced in the groin, armpits, and feet. Avoiding chemical based products is recommended because these can irritate the skin and make the problem worse. To avoid such harmful products, one can consider simple home remedies for body odor that are effective and come without many side effects.
A number of food items such as garlic, caffeine, and onions cause body odor. Hence, avoid such food items and instead opt for healthy green vegetable, nuts, fresh fruits, and sprouts that help in controlling the odor. Also, avoid red meat, refined sugar, alcohol, smoking, and processed foods to eliminate body odor.
One of the most effective ways of getting rid of body odor is to follow a hygienic routine every day. This includes, having a bath regularly and changing clothes on a daily basis. Also, opt to wear cotton clothes and open-toed shoes when the weather is hot.
Use natural instead of chemical-based deodorants. Opt for deodorants that contain ingredients such as vinegar, baking soda, and turnip juice and apply it on the armpits and with a cotton ball after you have had a bath.
Body odor problems can occur in individuals who are suffering from zinc and magnesium deficiency. To eliminate the problem, try and compensate the deficiency by including a rich amount of zinc and magnesium-rich food products such as spinach, cucumbers, Brussels sprouts, whole grains, nuts, and asparagus.
Body odor can also be eliminated with a simple kitchen ingredient such as baking soda. Apply a small amount of baking soda which will help in absorbing the moisture and sweat that causes body odor. For best results, apply the baking soda at regular intervals.
Like baking soda, one can also apply white vinegar under the arms to eliminate body odor. But in case you are using baking soda then avoid using the vinegar as it can worsen the problem and also lead to itching problems.
In most cases, body odor is caused by sweat. So, to treat body odor one must eliminate perspiration. This can be done by using antiperspirants that can be applied overnight for best response.
To eliminate body odor, one can soak in a bath made of warm water and a few cups of tomato juice. Soak in it for approximately 15 minutes and this helps in eliminating unpleasant odors.
Increase your intake of water and other fluids such as fresh fruit and vegetable juices. These help in flushing off the body toxins that can create unpleasant odor. For best results, drink eight glasses of water on a daily basis while avoiding beverages and liquids that can cause the body to dehydrate.
