Various Remedies For For Chest Infection
Onion
Home-made recipes using onion to cure chest infections are easy and do not have any side effects. To use, peel off the skin of a big onion and clean thoroughly under running water. Grind to make a fine paste of it. Extract the juice using a sieve and pressing the paste on it.
To this juice, add about 3-4 spoonfuls of lemon juice, about 2 tablespoons honey and little water. Put the mix on flame till it becomes warm. After this, let it cool and store it in a bottle. This is basically one day’s dose that should be taken in 3-4 times in a day. Continue this for at least a week to cure the infection from core.
Ginger
Ginger is a strong ingredient and antiseptic to cure chest congestion and other problems. To use, clean and peel about 2 inches of fresh ginger. Using a fine grater, grate well and extract the pulp. Squeeze the pulp to extract about a teaspoonful or two of ginger juice.
In a bowl, take two teaspoons of honey and add this fresh juice to it. Mix well and take the syrup without water. Do this at least 5 times a day to feel the change in less than 48 hours. Eucalyptus
Nilgiri Oil or Eucalyptus has excellent antifungal and anti bacterial properties. Though a good cure for chest infections, be careful as to never to consume eucalyptus oil in any form. The best way to use is, boil about 3-4 glasses of drinking water in a covered vessel.
Take a huge towel or a fat fabric sheet and cover your head with the boiled water. Remove the lid and add about 10-12 drops of eucalyptus oil to it and breathe deeply for about 15-20 minutes. Hot steam releases the active compounds of the oil which should be inhaled to get rid of congestion and mucus from the lungs and nasal tract.
Pepper Powder
To use pepper powder as a cure, boil a cup of milk and add 1/4th teaspoon of pepper powder to it. Remove from flame and add about 2-3 teaspoons of honey to the milk and mix well. Drink this milk at least twice a day to cure chest infection.
Alternately, boil a cup of water and add 1/4th teaspoon of black pepper powder to it. When the water is boiling, add about 2 teaspoons of honey to it, about half a teaspoon of tea leaves, put off the flame and cover the pan. Let it stay for about 10 minutes, after which you can sieve the water and drink it.
Garlic

Also make fresh ginger juice, about half a teaspoon. Mix both in equal proportions and drink on empty stomach and before bed time.
