1. Alum

Alum is very helpful in healing cold sores and also provides relief from pain. Take an ear-bud and make it wet. Dip it in alum powder and apply gently on the sores during bedtime.

This will almost make the sore to disappear and also provide relief from pain.. This is a good home remedy for cold sores.

2. Garlic

Garlic has healing properties and helps to heal cold sores very fast. Take one garlic clove and cut it from the middle.Gently rub it on your cold sore for some time. This will burn a lot, but it is the very effective home remedy. You can also apply some garlic juice on it.

3. Ice

Ice will show the wonder effects on cold sores. Apply ice as soon as you see sores on your lips.Gently apply an ice cube whenever you are free. This will provide relief from pain and also removes the sore as well. You can apply ice before going to bed and your sores will be 80% clean in the morning.

4. Tea Bags

You can prepare a cold compress using a tea bag for treating cold sores. Dip one tea bag in cold water for five minutes.After that squeeze out the water, and use this tea as a cold compress on your cold sores. This will help in providing relief from pain and also heals them fast.

5. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and has good healing properties. Apply some tea tree oil with an ear-bud every two hours on your cold sores.This will boost up the healing mechanism and also provides relief from the pain. Tea tree oil can be easily available and you can also use the lip balm having this as an ingredient.

6. Alcohol

Alcohol is very good in treating cold sores and it helps in getting relief from them in just one day.When your sores bursts out, dip a cotton ball in alcohol and cover your sores for about 10 minutes. Repeat it for about 5-6 times a day. This will provide amazing effects on cold sores.

7. Milk

Milk help provide relief from pain and also heals up sores very fast. Take some cold milk and dip a cotton ball in it.Apply this on your sores for few minutes. Whenever you feel tingling in sores, immediate rush to milk and apply it. This will provide relief and also heals them.

8. Salt

Salt is rich in iodine and it works well on cold sores. Apply directly some salt on your sores. This will burn a lot, but it will remove the sores in one day. Apply three times and feel the change.
