Digestive disorder is the most common problem that every individual faces at some point of time. It is usually caused due to food that we eat. Sometimes, the food we consume might not suit us and lead to gas, stomach upset, and acidity, burning sensation and bloating.

Home remedies for these issues are only at hands length in the cupboards of your kitchen. These home remedies help in relieving discomfort and pain. Moreover, they are handy and less expensive.


Various Remedies For Common Digestive Disorders

Ginger

There can be no better spice than ginger to cure digestive disorders. Stomach flu, vomiting, nausea and other digestion related problems can be cured using this wonder spice.

One research also revealed that ginger has the quality to relieve problems related to the attack in the gall bladder. You can consume fresh ginger or powder and use it to make tea. Honey can also be added as a sweetener for this tea.


Baking Soda

When you experience acidity in the stomach, baking powder can be used to give you relief as it alkalizes the stomach. It also makes the pH of the body alkaline .

Take 8 oz of water and mix half teaspoon of baking soda to it. Drink this mixture immediately when you experience an acid indigestion attack. This remedy will give you great relief because it will neutralize whatever is present in the stomach.


Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is helpful for acidity, as the acidic property in it creates alkaline in the stomach. It helps in altering the pH by neutralizing the acids in the stomach.

This is done by the digestive enzymes along with bicarbonate. Take about 8-10 oz of water, mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in it. Drink this mixture to get relief.


Papaya and Pineapple

Papaya consists of enzymes such as chymonpapain and papain, which enhance the process of digestion, and aids the overall health of the intestines.

These enzymes help cleanse the digestive tract thereby reducing nausea, bloating, cramps and flatulence. Bromelain is present in pineapples, which again helps in digestion because this enzyme works on breaking the protein in the food we consume.


Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is an effective solution to digestive disorders. This plant is enriched with minerals, vitamins and many other nutrients, which when consumed as a juice helps in creating a soothing effect on the stomach. It also helps prevents constipation, gastro intestinal problems and diarrhea.

This is possible because aloe vera protects the lining of the oesophagus. It brings relief to individuals, who suffer from heartburn and acid reflux. It is also useful in treating peptic ulcers. It is recommended to drink a glass of aloe vera juice at sunrise and sunset everyday to get rid of digestive disorders.


Garlic And Nutmeg

These two are wonder spices in the treatment of issues related to digestion. Add garlic while preparing your food or you could eat it raw. Nutmeg could be made into a tea and had with meals or before meals.


Spinach And Lettuce

These leafy vegetables are extremely rich in Vitamins like D, E, C and A. These vitamins are essential in proper functioning of the digestive tract and spinach and lettuce are filled with these vitamins. Including these in your diet will reduce digestive disorders.


Kale And Cabbage

Cabbage and kale have the tendency to produce enzymes that are protective in nature. These enzymes help in the treatment of digestive disorders so eating these vegetables will help in preventive digestion related issues.


Other Remedies

Cinnamon is helpful in digestion and helps in preventing gas, indigestion and cramps. Cardamom stimulates and warms the body. It is an excellent spice to treat indigestion and gas issues. Fennel helps in proper digestion of the food. It is possible to treat acidity by drinking a cup of tea made with fennel. Chewing fennel is also considered to aid digestion.
