10 Remedies For Diarrhea

The problem of diarrhea can result in a lot of discomfort. It is generally caused by factors such as consumption of greasy food items and antibiotics, viral and bacterial infections and food poisoning.

Some of the common symptoms of this problem include frequent watery stools, pain in the abdominal area, heartburn, dehydration and vomiting. A person can use various types of home remedies to treat this stomach disorder.


Home Remedies for Diarrhea

Yogurt

Intake of yogurt with active cultures is recommended to obtain quick relief from the problem. Yogurt can improve the production of lactic acids in the intestines which can help in killing the bacteria responsible for the medical condition.

A mixture of fresh yogurt and black seed oil can also be consumed for effective results. This home remedy can also cure diarrhea resulting from the consumption of antibiotics.


Brown Rice

Another effective home remedy is brown rice. A person can boil brown rice in water for a period of 45 minutes. Boiled rice can be consumed to obtain relief. Drinking rice water can also provide the desired results within a reasonable period of time.


Apple Cider Vinegar

A cup of warm water containing apple cider vinegar (1 teaspoon) can be taken with each meal to treat the symptoms of the problem.


Orange

Orange peels can be boiled in water to prepare tea. A person suffering from diarrhea can consume this tea 3 times on a daily basis to obtain the desired results. Fresh orange juice can also be taken to deal with the problem.


Ginger

Ginger can be used as a home remedy. It is advisable to chew a piece of ginger per day. Another option is to boil crushed ginger pieces in water and drink the strained solution 3 to 4 times on a daily basis to relieve the stomach pain and abdominal cramps associated with the problem.


Buttermilk

Buttermilk containing cumin seeds powder and black salt can be taken multiple times per day. A combination of banana and buttermilk can also be consumed 3 times on a daily basis to cure the problem.


Lemon

Lemon juice can be consumed 3 to 5 times in a day to eliminate diarrhea-causing pathogens. Another alternative is to drink a mixture of lemon juice, ginger juice and powdered pepper 2 times on a daily basis. Intake of lemon juice (2 tablespoons) before each meal is also recommended.


Coconut Water

The burning sensation resulting from the problem can be treated with the intake of coconut water. Dehydration resulting from diarrhea can also be cured with the use of this remedy.


Carrot

A person can consume fresh carrots to cure the medical condition. A soup prepared by boiling carrot slices in water can be taken multiple times on a daily basis to get the desired results.

Carrot juice containing a few drops of lemon juice can also be consumed 3 to 4 times per day.


Garlic

Raw garlic can be eaten to treat the symptoms. A few garlic slices can be boiled in water to prepare tea. Consumption of garlic tea 2 to 3 times per day can provide quick relief.
