Different seasons are the ways to enjoy the beauty of the nature, but as everything has its downside so thus these seasons also, like in winter, we suffer problems related to the cold wave. 

This may be the cause of many diseases. Although a number of medicines are now available in the market, which can give you instant relief, yet their use is not recommended as these have certain side-effects.

The best way to treat this problem is to use homemade remedies as these are effective and easy to do with the stuff easily available in your kitchen. Here are some of the home remedies for coughs given below.


Best Home Remedies for Dry Cough


Consume Garlic Tea

This is one of the easiest ways to cure cold, flu and cough. Garlic tea with a little honey is delicious for drinking. Take two to three garlic cloves, crush it properly this can be done by a knife.

Take two cups of water, add crushed garlic cloves in it, and boil it for 10 to 15 minutes. Allow it to boil for sometime. Then add a little honey as per taste. Lemon juice can also be added to this tea.


Use Onion with Honey

Red onion with sugar cane and honey is the one of the best homemade remedies for swollen throats and cough. Take a slice of onion in a bowl with layers of brown sugar alternating with layers of honey. Take honey or brown sugar according to desired sweetness. Keep adding layers of onion until the entire onion is reconstructed.

Keep it aside for about 12 to 15 hours or even for the whole night. Then next morning, one cup of syrup is ready to be had with sweetness, full of vitamins that are the surest cure for cough. One tablespoon of this can be taken daily.


Use Lemon and Honey

Lemons that give vitamin C are helpful for the cure of cough. And, if taken with honey, then it can be also useful for the killing of viruses and bacteria. Take liquid of ½ lemons with two to three tablespoons of honey and take it throughout the day as required.


Chicken

If one has no allergy to chicken, then they can also try the chicken for cold cough. From the 12thcentury, this treatment is being used to fight cough and flu. Though chicken is non-organic, it’s helpful for growing the hormones in the body. However, it is not recommended for vegetarian people.


Mullein Tea

It’s very much famous way for relieving the coughs and colds. Take dry mullein and keep in a cup of boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes. To improve the taste a tablespoon of honey can be added to the mullein tea.


Turmeric and Pepper with Cinnamon

Take half a cup of water, two tablespoons turmeric with one teaspoon pepper and cinnamon sticks. Mix it in a bowl and boil it for 2 to 3 minutes. Taking it as soon as it is made can help you reduce the problem of cold effectively.
