This disease is just a type of inflammation of your voice box. Irritation or infection may help to trigger the swelling in your vocal cords, which leads to the laryngitis.

Onion and Honey

The patient may take a mixture of five tablespoons of onion syrup along with one tablespoon of honey. After almost three hours of mixing you may have it along with a glass of warm water in order to get rid of the disease. It is extremely beneficial in curing this disease. You may prepare onion syrup by simmering three large onions in five cups of boiling water to turn it into a thicker solution.


Gargling

The patient should use antiseptic and antibacterial mouth washes. This will definitely help you to kill all the germs that infected your larynx. It could be done by simple gargling by using these solutions.

You may also use warm salt water as it is one of the best home remedies for laryngitis and for the sore throat as well. You should do it several times a day. This can soothe your throat completely and kill all the germs and infections present in it.


Speak  Softly

You should take care to talk as soft and slow as possible and completely avoid speaking or yelling loudly. This will help a lot to get rid of the disease in an easy way.


Humidify the Air

The indoor heating takes moisture almost out of the air. Thus, you may prefer to use a humidifier or vaporizer in order to maintain the humidity in the air. This will help you to breathe healthy and fresh air.


Eucalyptus

The patient may prefer to inhale steam along with the eucalyptus oil. This will definitely help you out to ease laryngitis as well as cold and throat infections as well.


Licorice

Due to the presence of glycyrrhizic acid or glycyrrhizin in large amount in the licorice, it helps to raise the blood pressure of your body. Thus it is advisable to consume only deglycyrrhizinated licorice extracts, from which the glycyrrhizic acid has already been removed.


Vinegar

You may also use vinegar in order to have a big acid bath of your mouth. This will help you to remove all viruses and bacteria in it.

Vinegar is actually a weak acid which helps to wipe out many infectious organisms. You must take care not to use it directly as may prove to be quite strong so use it with water.


Lemon

Lemon is naturally acidic and thus it helps to stimulate the saliva flow. The salt helps to increase the lemon’s acidity, which in turn helps to kill many microorganisms prone to the weak acid. You may also try to have lemon with hot tea or even lemon drops which will work great to keep your throat moist. Must consume it three to four times a day.
