6 Remedies For Lethargy

Lethargy is a condition in which an individual experiences fatigue, tiredness or extreme lack of energy. Lethargy can happen due to several reasons like poor diet, improper sleep or exercise, stress, boredom and working beyond capacity. Many times lethargy is due to these reasons and can be rectified with a proper diet, good sleep, decreasing the amount of stress and increasing daily exercise routine.

Sometimes lethargy could be an indication of a more serious issue, which could be psychological or physical. Some medical conditions like asthma, thyroid problems, sleep issues, anemia, cancer, medications can also lead to lethargy. It can also be due to lack of motivation, depressed feelings and apathy. If the symptoms do not reduce over a period, do seek medical help. However, for normal causes of lethargy we could consider some home remedies to resolve the issue. Some of the home remedies are discussed below.


Usefull Remedies For Lethargy

Gooseberries

Consuming gooseberries regularly can help ward off lethargy. This fruit helps enhances the activity of the body. You can soak gooseberries in honey and store it.

Take one berry every day. Alternatively, you could also soak them in a container of salt water. This fruit also enhances overall wellness and hence a great remedy to treat lethargy.


Ginger And Lemon

Ginger is great for providing energy. It is a stimulant and helps in increasing the blood circulation. Make a powder by roasting and grinding ginger. Mix this along with milk or water to get a lot of energy.

Drinking a glass of limejuice is also an effective remedy for lethargy. Use fresh lemon to make the juice and have it every day. This will gradually reduce lethargy over time.


Spinach And Sprouts

Having a glass of juice made of spinach is a great way to treat lethargy. Spinach provides essential nutrients required for proper functioning of the body. By drinking this juice many times every day, lethargy could be kept at bay.

Sprouts have amazing benefits. Including sprouts in your daily diet can help in removing the feelings of lethargy. Besides these, apricots and raisins also play a vital role in treating the problem, as they are rich in iron.


Sleep

Gathering the energy for normal activities is quite essential. Therefore, it becomes necessary for the body to get enough time to regain energy.

Hence, taking a nap when you feel tired is efficient in removing lethargy, as it will help you regain the energy you lost. Since sleeplessness is one of the common symptoms of this condition, getting adequate sleep will help in reducing lethargy.


Hot Water Bath

Taking a hot water shower is a natural way to treat lethargy. Alternatively, you can get a body massage with essential oils like rosemary, eucalyptus or citrus oils, which can help in treating this problem effectively.


Other Remedies

Doing things, that interest you and keeping yourself involved in something will heighten your spirits, which in turn will remove stress and lethargy. Exercise is the best way to rejuvenate and remove lethargic feelings.

Drinking coffee or tea can be energizing. This will be beneficial in decreasing lethargy. Grape fruit juice is another excellent remedy for this problem. Drinking a glass of grape fruit juice everyday is quite beneficial. In addition, drink plenty of water, which will help in reducing the problem.
