These work as pain relievers. Adding sea salt and baking soda into the bath can help in making the solution better and more effective. Soak the area into this solution for 10 minutes at regular intervals throughout the day.


Ginger Tea

Consuming caffeine is known to worsen the cramps; hence, ignore coffee or chocolate cravings, if and when one is suffering from menstrual cramps. Instead, opt for decaffeinated coffee or herbal teas.


Flax Seed

Include flax seed supplement into the diet as it minimizes the production of prostaglandins, one of main causes for menstrual cramps.

For best results, add a tablespoon of flaxseed supplements into your daily smoothie or cereal or yogurt and this can help in controlling menstrual cramps.


Fish

Having fish can minimize the cramps that occur during pre or post menstruation. Containing high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, fish can have anti-inflammatory effects that helps in treating the pain and discomfort caused.


Avoid Red Meat And Dairy Products

If you suffer from menstrual cramps then avoid having red meat and dairy products.

These are known to aid the production of prostaglandins, helping in minimizing cramps.


Whole Foods

Eating plenty of whole grains that include high levels of calcium will help in treatment of menstrual cramps. The category of whole food is not limited to whole breads only.
