9 Remedies For Muscle Soreness

A change in one’s routine exercises might cause micro damage in muscles fibers and connective tissues. The term used to describe muscle soreness is called delayed onset muscles soreness. One of the main causes of muscle soreness is by eccentric exercises. It basically means lengthening contractions of muscles. One of the main consequences of exercise like weightlifting, stair climber basically causes the formation of lactic acid accumulation. The lactic acid accumulation often causes discomfort and soreness in the muscles.

The common symptoms often noticed among people suffering from muscle soreness are joint pain, fever, muscle cramps, tenderness in muscles, muscle aches, sleeping difficulties, fatigues and head ache. But if a patient is suffering from muscle soreness one doesn’t need to consult to a doctor on immediate basis. One can ease the pain occurred at home also with home remedies. Home remedies help the patient to recover from muscle soreness and also helps in relaxing the muscles. It is free from all side effects and the ingredients are easily available in the kitchen and refrigerators. If the patient feels too much muscle pain even after 10-12 days of time then they must consult a doctor for better guidance.


Home Remedies For Muscle Soreness

Bath With Cold Water

If a person is facing muscle soreness then one might just need to take a cold shower bath as it might just ease the muscle pain. It helps to ease the damaged caused due to overuse of muscles. This kind of home remedy is considered to be one of the best alternatives that ease soreness and stiffness. Allow the cold water to run the 15-20 minutes for better result. Within a period of 72 hours one might feel the difference.


Ice Packs

Another best remedy to treat muscle soreness and pain is application of ice pack. In a towel one can wrap few ice cubes and apply it over the area where muscle pain is caused. Icing the muscles prevent from further soreness and stiffness. It helps in soothing the muscles and relaxes the stretched muscles. Apply the cold ice packs 2-3 times a day. Within 72 hours one might just get too see desired results.


Rosemary Oils

Another good remedy to treat muscle soreness is application of rosemary oils. It contains anti inflammatory properties that helps to reduce the inflammation caused within the muscles. Rosemary oil is very effective in reducing the swelling occurred within the strained muscles. It helps to soothe the inflamed muscle tissues and also speed up the healing process.

Rosemary oil can be mixed with carrier oil such as coconut oil. Add a teaspoon of rosemary oil and coconut oil in a bowl and stir it properly. Boil it for few seconds and then apply it over the strained muscles. Try this remedy 2 times daily. Within a day the patient may feel a lot of difference in the pain level.


Dry Beans

Dry beans are also considered to be an effective treatment. One can wrap some amount of dry beans in an old sock. Just microwave the socks with beans inside for 30-40 seconds. After cooling down for a minute apply the dry bean socks over the strained muscles. It helps in soothing the muscles and also relieves the patient from excessive muscle pain. Continue with this kind of treatment 2-4 times a day. It is one of the best remedy that helps from instant relief from muscle aches.


Epsom Salts

Epsom salt is one of the best remedy that helps in healing of torn cells and also in easing the swelling of the muscles. In a tub full of luke warm water add cup of Epsom salts. Stir the water properly. Soak the painful area of your body in the tub. The Epsom salt helps in absorbing the magnesium through the skin thus helps in soothing the patient muscles. It gives relief from muscles aches and pain. Continue with this treatment at least 3-4 days for a proper cure but it may just help in lessening the pain on immediate basis and gives relief from swelling also.


Apple Cider Vinegar

Application of apple cider vinegar helps in soothing muscle aches and pains. It is considered one of the most beneficial in easing the joint pains and muscle cramps. One can add 2 cups of apple cider vinegar in a tub of Luke warm water and soak the strained muscles in that water. Soak the affected area for 15-20 minutes and then wash oneself with clean water. Apple cider vinegar is an effective method of easing soreness of the muscles. Try this remedy 2 times daily for 3-4 day on regular basis. The patient will be benefitted within 72 hours.


Banana

Another effective remedy to reduce muscle soreness and muscle pain is to consume banana. If a patient is feeling too much muscle cramping or excessive joint pain then one might just consume 2 bananas on daily basis. Bananas help in providing potassium to the patient. Within few days the patient may feel that it helps in easing the muscle soreness concern.


Water

A person suffering from muscle soreness should try and increase the amount of water intake. A lot of water is lost during exercises.So the patient need to at least take 8-10 glasses of water. If the patient doesn’t receive enough water during workouts then one might feel enough of pain in the muscles resulting in muscle soreness. So the patient should try and consume 4-5 glasses of water before exercises and 4-5 glasses of water after exercises. It helps the body recover from the cramps occurred during exercises easily.


Milk

A glass of milk is very much required for the patient suffering from Muscle soreness. Milk helps in providing calcium to the patient. It helps in fighting and preventing muscle pain to a great extent. One must know that if an adult drinks 2-3 glasses of milk daily he/she can easily overcome the problem of muscle soreness.
