10 Remedies For Puffy Under Eyes

The problem of puffiness in eyes cannot be ignored as it is one of the cosmetic concerns. It is more common in females than men. Some of the main causes behind puffiness in the eyes are insomnia, water retention, kidney issues, excessive exposure to sun rays and any activity that gives strain to the eyes.

But some of the simple home remedies will help you to get rid of puffiness in the eyes. Here all the remedies are natural but you should take precaution while using them around your eyes. So it is recommended to do a skin test before using anything. Take the home remedy that you are going to use and place a small amount on your hand or wrist to test your skin sensitivity. If irritation or redness occurs after using that product then avoid the use of it and opt for another.


Home Remedies For Puffy Under Eyes

Cucumber

Cucumber is one of the vegetables that has adequate water in it. Place cucumber slices on your eyes after keeping them in the refrigerator. Your head should be in an incline position when you will keep cucumber slices on your eyes as this will help with proper lymphatic drainage and increase the brightness of your eyes. It also helps to reduce under eye circles and dryness in eyes as these problems also occurs with puffiness in the eyes.


Tea Bags

Tea bags contains tannis in it which helps to reduce eye puffiness.You can use a tea bag that is used by refrigerating it for 2-4 hours.Then keep tea bags on your eye puffs by a gentle press on it so that tannis will strat removing puffiness.


Egg White

Egg white has astringent and tightening properties and it allows helps to improve the blood circulation of the eyes. When the blood circulation is proper then the puffiness will go slowly from your under eyes.

Now to use egg white for puffiness , you have to take a half spoon of egg white and it has to be applied on the skin having puffiness. When the application becomes dry then wash out with cold water. You can also apply egg white before going to bed ans wash it next morning.


Chamomile

Chamomile has anti-inflammatory properties which is soothing for the skin. You can take chamomile tea and then after freezing them into ice cubes, place under eyes to get rid of eye puffiness.These ice cubes will reduce the inflammation under eyes and will also affect the flow of blood around the eyes.


Milk

Milk has soothing properties which helps to decrease the puffiness in the eyes. Now to use milk for your eyes, you have to freeze milk into ice cubes and then after wrapping the cubes into a cotton cloth , place them under your eyes

.Now after the application of cold compresses with milk, take some warm milk and gently apply it on your eyes for some time. Do alternate cold and warm compress atleast 4-5 times as it will drain all the fluid in your eyes and decrease the puffiness in the eyes.


Potato

Potatoes acts as an anti-inflammatory and when the slices of potatoes are placed under eyes then it helps to reduce the puffiness.Potatoes helps to absorb the excess water in the eyes and reduces puffiness. Keep the slices of potato for at least ten minutes while keeping your head elevated.


Rose Water

Rose water also helps to tone your skin and decrease the eye puffiness and under eye pores. You can use ready-made rose-water or can prepare it at home. Just add some rose petals and boil them in water for at least fifteen minutes. Now strain and after cooling this water you can apply under your eyes with cotton balls.


Stay Hydrated

The lack of water in the body leads to make eyes puffed. This is because inadequate water levels lead to water retention and swelling under eyes. So make sure to drink at least eight glasses of water every day. In case you cannot drink as much water then opt for flavored water. This will give you bright eyes and the visibility of eye puffiness will start diminishing.


Salt

Some people hold a misconception that salt is not recommended in case you are suffering from the problem of water retention which is wrong. The use of salt externally will be very helpful to get rid of puffed eyes.

All you need to do is to take a teaspoon of salt and mix it in one pint of water. Soak some cotton balls into it and apply the balls under eyes for five to ten minutes depending upon the severity of the puffiness. In minutes, it will give you results.


Eye Massage

A gentle massage with your ring finger to the swollen area in a circular motion will help to drain the excess fluid present under eyes. So give a massage and make sure you’re hands are properly washed as lack of hygiene may aggravate the problem. This process of massage should be repeated several times till all the puffiness subsides.
