Share

One common skin problem that occurs on the face of both adults and teens is rosacea. Caused by exposure to extreme temperatures or sensitivity to food items, rosacea results in flushed skin with flare-ups. This is an extremely uncomfortable situation because such flare-ups usually occur in the face and around the nose.

To reduce the occurrence of rosacea, one can resort to dermatological treatments including antibiotics and skin care creams. Alternatively, one can also opt for homemade remedies for rosacea that help in controlling such instances of flare-ups and reduce the chance of it spreading across the face area.

Effective Home Remedies For Rosacea

The inflammatory skin condition is basically determined by the redness of the facial skin and also by the occurrence of frequent pimples in and around the nose. Individuals with fair skin are more prone to rosacea occurrence as redness of skin is more visible in fairer skin. Here are a few home remedies for rosacea that can help you control such instances and with time eliminate the condition.

Cucumber Mask

Treatment of rosacea is possible with a freshly blended cucumber mask. To make the mask, peel a cucumber and puree it with one egg white.

Once you are happy with the consistency of the puree, apply it over your face and let it rest for 30 minutes. Once the mask dries down, rinse it off with water and within a month the desired results are visible.

Fruits And Vegetables

We all know that a healthy intake of fresh fruits and vegetables can eliminate skin problems. This is again true for rosacea too! A healthy intake of fruits and vegetables containing Vitamin A can eliminate rosacea symptoms effectively.

Few of the Vitamin-rich food sources are apricots, papaya, peas, squash, broccoli, tomatoes, and guava. Hence, the key is to include colorful variety of fruits and vegetables into your daily diet.

Chamomile Oil

If skin inflammation is one of the key attributes of rosacea then one can make a homemade solution using chamomile oil. To make the solution use chamomile tea bags and steep it into hot water. Next, let it cool off, then dab soft cloth into the mixture, and apply it onto the face. Cool compress with the solution for around 20 minutes on a daily basis can control skin inflammation caused by rosacea.

Apple Mask

If you have apple in your kitchen then you can easily make a face mask with it to treat rosacea. Peel and make a puree of a fresh apple. In the puree add a few drops of lemon juice.

Apply this paste all over the face for 45 minutes. Let it dry and then wash it off with water. Application of this apple mask can effectively treat rosacea symptoms effectively.

Fatty Fish

If you want to manage the symptoms of rosacea then one can easily increase the intake of fatty fish including salmon, lake trout, and tuna. These are dietary sources of omega -3 fatty acids that can reduce skin inflammation, one of the key symptoms of rosacea.  One point to remember is that cold-water fish is a better option than over-saturated sources of fat.

Plant-Based Oils

These are carriers of unsaturated fats that help in managing rosacea symptoms. The best plant-based oil is extra-virgin olive oil that can be combined with vinegar in your salads to provide a nutritious dose of healthy food that can help in controlling rosacea.

Green Tea

A healthy cup of green tea on a daily basis can also help in treating rosacea. Containing natural detoxification properties, green tea can be either consumed or one can also apply it on the skin for treatment of rosacea.

To apply green tea over your face, steep green tea bags into boiling water. Next, lean over and put a towel over your face to steam the face with the green tea.

Tea Tree Oil

Considered one of the most effective treatments for acne and other skin related problems, tea tree oil containing benzoyl peroxide is known for helping in treating rosacea. But studies have shown that tea tree oil can sometimes trigger side effects; hence, always try a skin test before  fully applying it on your skin and check if it is reacting or not.

Jojoba Oil

Inflamed red blotches are common symptoms of rosacea and this can be treated with jojoba oil. Known to contain anti-inflammatory properties, one can apply jojoba oil onto the skin directly.

Massage the oil into the skin with your fingers and within a short period of time it can treat the rosacea condition. Though there are a variety of jojoba oil products available in the market, always opt for natural joboba oil extract.
