Sweating is body’s natural process to get rid of all the toxins and chemicals inside body. It also helps in maintaining appropriate body temperature. It is said that body flushes out waste materials either by excretion or by sweating.
Sweating is really important and those who do not sweat are subjected to treatments that allow removal of wastes through skin. But there are problems where people sweat alot, sometimes unnecessarily. Excessive sweating through palms, which is not in response to body toxins or stress is considered to be a problem which must be dealt with.
It may sometimes lead to social embarrassment and prevent you from doing simple hand tasks. Instead of going for medical treatment, you can fetch some materials in your kitchen to get over with the condition. The home remedies mentioned in this article will help you in dealing with sweaty hands. They are safe as well as pocket friendly.
Tea contains a compound called tannin which works well for sweaty hands. Tannin is an astringent and hence, it constricts body tissues. This helps in reducing pore size in palms. Reduced pores would obviously secrete less sweat.
Take boiling water in a bowl and add 2 teabags to it. Let the essence of tea fill the pan for around 2-3 minutes. Take out the tea bags and let the water cool to room temperature. Dip your hands in the bowl for atleast half an hour before going to bed.
If you are in a habit of drinking tea in morning, then you can re-use the teabags. Once you have used the teabags to make tea, keep them aside and let them cool a little. When the bags reach room temperature, you can hold one in each hand for half an hour. It would provide the same result as the bowl of tea water.
Camphor is an astringent and works just like tea. It constricts tissues leading to reduction in the size of pores. Smaller pores would release lesser sweat as compared to the larger ones. Take powdered camphor and mix four teaspoons of it in a liter of water. Let the mixture stay undisturbed for two weeks. Finally, you can use it over your hands to avoid excess sweat.
Alcohol can be used to get rid of sweaty hands as it also has astringent properties. It reduces the size of your pores and prevents flooding of sweat.
Make sure not to use alcohol everyday as it might over dry your hands and then you would require remedies for dry hands! So, it is better to keep this remedy for urgent cases, for instance if you have to go out for a meeting.
Just dip a cotton ball in little alcohol and rub it over your palms. Make sure the cotton does not soak too much of alcohol and if it does, you can always squeeze it to get rid of the excess alcohol.
Vinegar also has astringent properties and would work well to reduce the size of your pores. The basic advantage of vinegar is that it is easily available. Majority of homes have a little jar filled with vinegar. Mix vinegar with water in a ratio of 1:4 and soak your hands for about 30 minutes before going to bed. You will soon realize the decrease in sweating. For better results, use apple cider vinegar.
To avoid sweaty hands, one should either use a technique to reduce sweating or should continuously get rid of the sweat. In order to get rid of the sweat, you can use cornstarch.
It is a good absorbent and would take up all that you sweat, keeping your hands dry. Just take a little cornstarch in your palm and rub it all over your hands. You’ll soon feel the dryness.
Talcum powder can also be used to absorb the sweat. People usually use talcum powder in underarms after bathing. This helps in absorbing sweat and prevents body odor. It would work similarly for your hands. Take a little talcum powder in your palm and dab it over your hands. The powder would absorb all the sweat and would keep your hands dry.
You might be using antiperspirants in your underarms after bathing. These provide an appealing fragrance and affect sweat glands causing them to sweat less. Such antiperspirants can be used in hands too. Just roll it on your palm and spread it all over your hands.
Make sure you use an antiperspirant and not merely a deodorant as some deodorants only provide good smell and have nothing to do with the reduction of sweat. You can choose your antiperspirant by checking out the ingredients. You just ave to make sure that it contains aluminum chlorohydrate.
