Various Remedies For  Tinea Infection
Garlic Cloves Mask
Garlic has anti-itching properties that can be used to treat the itchiness and pain caused by the fungi. Simply crush a few cloves of garlic and make a fine paste. Apply to the affected area and leave for 10 minutes before rinsing off with cold water.
Remember not to use hot water as it might cause the infection to spread. Also ensure that the hands should be clean and the cloves are religiously washed before crushing to prevent dirt from getting on to the skin. You can also use disposable gloves to apply the paste.
Tea Tree Oil Cleanser
Tea tree oil has shown to have natural anti-fungal properties that also cleanses and moisturizes the skin thereby reducing itchiness on the tinea infected portions of the body. To apply, take small quantities of oil on a soft cotton ball and apply to the affected area.
Make sure that you do not use it on the portions around that are not infected to prevent spreading the bacteria. This can be done up to twice daily to speed up recovery process. Tea tree oil is a natural cleanser and works well on most of the hair and skin related problems.
Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
Apple cider vinegar is a perfect cure for most of the skin related problems. Make a rinse of the vinegar by mixing one teaspoon of it to a glass of water. Use this dilute on the affected area directly and let dry on its own. It takes about 15 minutes to dry naturally, and then repeat the process.
Done thrice daily, especially before bedtime, works wonders. You can also make a mask using half a cup of butter and a teaspoon each of apple cider vinegar and alcohol. Refrigerate overnight and apply on the affected area for immediate benefits. However, this is not recommended for sensitive skin. Another effective way to use apple cider vinegar is to add a few teaspoons to the bathing water and use it after shower.
Onion Rub
The anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and anti fungal qualities of onion make it the easiest and most convenient way to treat tinea naturally at home. Use any oil that suits your skin type and add about a tablespoonful of onion paste to it. Heat on low flame till onion turns brown and you can see fumes coming.
Let cool off and apply the oil to the affected skin. After half an hour wipe off with a dry cloth and clean with lukewarm water. You can also use onion juice or crushed onion directly on the skin. Here again, make sure the hands and onions are scrupulously clean to prevent dirt from making the itchiness worse.
Honey Moisturizer
For the skin infected by any bacteria, it is essential to moisturize the skin from time to time, to prevent itchiness, flaky patches and related dryness. It is not advisable to use cosmetic moisturizers as its synthetic ingredients may lead to increased severity.
Mix pure honey, olive oil and bee wax in equal proportion and apply on the affected area. It causes a short lived tingling sensation initially, but disappears gradually. If the tingling sensation is severe, discontinue the use of the mask and clean with warm water. Leave on the mix for half an hour before rinsing off with cool water. You can also mix honey with garlic to moisturize and reduce itchiness.
Salt Soak
Salt has an excellent anti fungal property which not only prevents the growth of fungus but also deters the severity of itchiness it causes. There are various forms of salt that are known to cure skin infections. Generously use Epsom salt, bath salts or iodized salts in room temperature bathing water and fill it in a tub or huge container.
Soak the infected area for about half an hour up to twice daily. You can see effective results within 5 days of starting this method. You can also mix either of the salts in a bath tub filled with water and soak the entire body for 30 minutes daily to prevent boils, blisters and other skin infections.
White Vinegar And Coconut Oil Mix
White Vinegar itself is a very strong ingredient and therefore is always used in diluted form when it has to be applied to the skin. To dilute, mix one portion of white vinegar in a glassful of pure water and apply on the infected area using cotton ball and leave.
Another way of treating tinea infection is adding diluted white vinegar to extra virgin coconut oil and mixing it well. Apply this to the infected skin twice a day to see effective results. White vinegar not only prevents the growth of the bacteria, but ensures that it does not recur and coconut oil reduces the itchiness and redness from the infected portion.
