7 Effective Home Remedies For Tooth Abscess

Tea Bag

 

Put a dry tea bag inside the cheek near the affected tooth. Leave it for some time or overnight. You can also put chilled tea bags for ten minutes on the abscessed tooth. You can also put raw potato in the mouth. This remedy helps in eliminating the infection as well as pus due to which there is less pain as well as swelling.

Cold Compress

 

A cold compress helps in decreasing the tooth swelling and pain. Apply ice pack on the affected tooth for twenty minutes daily for several times.

Salt Water Gargling

 

If the abscess erupts, you must drain the pus as well as blood and gargle with lukewarm salted water.Warm water helps in relaxing the oral cavity. Salt has antiseptic property.

Baking Soda Poultice

 

You can make a poultice by mixing salt with baking soda. You can take a slightly wet cotton ball. Soak the ball in the above mixture. Put the cotton ball on the affected tooth.

Leave it for some time or overnight. This pack helps in draining the gumboil. It will help you in the eruption of the abscess.

Hydrogen Peroxide Mouthwash

 

Rinse the mouth hydrogen peroxide mouthwash. This mouthwash helps in disinfecting the gumboil. You can use tea tree oil by mixing it with water. Gargle with this solution of essential oil. Tea tree oil has antibacterial ingredients.

You can also use grapefruit seed extract in undiluted form. This extract has antibiotic property. If there is discharge and pus in the abscess, brush the teeth and do H2O2 gargle. Rinse the mouth properly. Soak cotton in a solution of hydrogen peroxide. Place the cotton on the abscess.

Garlic

 

You must chew whole garlic clove. Garlic has antibiotic property. you can place a compress of garlic oil mixed with clove oil on the abscessed tooth. You can also take garlic as capsules. Take three or four garlic capsules of 300 mg daily for five days.. Also, take 1000 mg of Vitamin C daily three times for three days. Vitamin C helps in the healing process.

Clove

 

Apply clove oil on the affected tooth. You can dip cotton in clove oil and dab the affected tooth with it. Clove oil has anti-fungal, anesthetic and anti bacterial property. You can also chew the clove. Avoid chewing the residue of the clove as it can cause hyperacidity.

Do not use clove oil if the tooth is bleeding. You can also make a solution by mixing four cloves and one piece of ginger in water. Boil the water until it reduces to half of its quantity. Cool the solution and gargle with it. You can place a whole clove on the abscessed tooth.
