Share

Eyelashes are protective guards for your eyes. They are extremely sensitive and whenever anything touches your lashes (to enter eyes), the sense causes eyes to close.Eyelashes thus provide protection against all the dust and insects and everything else in the environment. Along with the protective benefits, eyelashes also have beauty benefits.People with long dense eyelashes have a prettier look than those who are devoid of them. In short, they enhance the beauty of your eyes. If you have poorly growing eyelashes, you can work with these simple and effective home remedies to enhance their growth.

Best Home Remedies To Enhance Eyelash Growth

1. Use Petroleum Jelly

Petroleum jelly is emollient and protective in nature. Using a bit of it keeps eyelashes healthy, allowing them to grow. Use a little petroleum jelly over your eyelashes every night. Let it work for entire night and wash it off the next day. Make sure you use extremely little quantity so that your eyes do not get affected with the treatment. After all, your eyes are in no need of petroleum jelly! For easy application, you can use eye brush of your mascara. Wash the brush properly before using it. Take little petroleum jelly in your palm and swirl the brush against it so that hair of the brush take up jelly. Slighly brush your eyelashes with the mascara brush and let them stay undisturbed for entire night.

2. Olive Oil

Eyelashes are more like your normal hair. They grow and then they fall off. Just as you use olive oil for your hair, you can use the same for your eyelashes. Olive oil penetrates inside pores reaching the roots. It then nourishes your lash from the roots, making them grow faster. The oil also purifies roots and eyelashes by trapping all the impurities and getting them out of the pores. Use a little olive oil over you eyelashes and let it work for an entire night. Next morning, wash your face properly removing all the oil. Do not rub your eyelashes while washing or they’ll get weak enough to fall off.

3. Castor Oil

Castor oil works just like olive oil. It nourishes your eyelashes from follicles causing them to grow faster. The nourishing agents you apply over hair would work better if they reach the roots and provide health from there. Same is the concept with castor oil. Instead of working superficially, it provides benefits right from the roots. You can use a little castor oil over your eyelashes and allow it to work overnight. Wash off the oil when you get up in morning. Castor oil will also pull out the impurities and trap them, providing you with healthier eyelashes. The method should be used every night for best results.

4. Lemon

Using lemon along with olive oil or castor oil would enhance the oil’s ability to clean and grow your eyelashes. Obviously lemon cannot be used directly, else it can cause serious damage to eyes. A safer method is to use lemon peel. Cut out a small piece of lemon’s peel and allow it to dry a little. Add the dried peel in either castor oil or olive oil. After a few days (atleast 7 days), the nutrients of lemon would rech out into the oil. To know that the mixture is ready, you can smell it. If it has a light fragrance of lemon, then the recipe is ready to use. Take a little of it over mascara brush and apply all over you lashes. Let the remedy work for entire night. Wash it the next morning. Be careful while applying the mixture, as it now contains a bit of lemon in it.

5. Trimming

Trimming always works well to enhance hair growth. Just as you get your hair trimmed every fortnight, get a habit of trimming your eyelashes too. The act stimulates hair follicles to enhance the growth of eyelashes. Trim atleast one in fifteen days to get good results. And yes! using a pointed tool near eyes is not atol safe.So make sure you are extremely careful. Rather a personal advise would be to let some elderly do the job for you. Sit on a chair with your eyes closed and allow your mom or sister to do it for you. Closes eyes would have much less threat from that sharp weapon.

6. Avoid Mascara

Marcara that gives you the perfect eyelash look is actually stealing perfection from your original eyelashes. After all, your mascara doesn’t want you to stop using it! Avoid using it daily. Make a point to wash aff all your eye make up once you don’t need it.Even if you have returned from a party late at night, fetch time to wash your face. Do not sleep with all the make up on your face. It will take several days to neutralize the harms it did to your skin (and eyelashes). Mascara makes your eyelashes brittle and moistureless causing them to break easily. Avoid it’s usage upto your best.

7. Do Not Rub Your Eyes

Rubbing eyes can cause eyelashes to get weak from roots making them fall easily. Regrowth requires time and proper care. Though you might not see difference in the beginning as only one or two strands fall off in a weak. But the weakened eyelashes do not receive proper nutrition and cannot utilize it properly. They would fall off someday causing hairless patches on your eyelid. Avoid the situation by preventing frequent rubbing of eyes.

8. Vitamin E

Vitamin E transports blood and oxygen to follicles keeping them healthy. It is an anti-oxidant that protects hair follicles from any damage by free radicals. Vitamin E thus ensures health of hair follicles and healthy follicles are all that you need for proper eyelash growth. To avail all the benefits of Vitamin E, make sure you add vitamin rich food in your daily diet. Vitamin E is abundantly present in almonds, avocados, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, peanut butter and blueberries. Having handful of almonds everyday would do the job perfectly.

9. Vitamin H

Vitamin H provides you with those perfect eyelashes you had been dreaming of. It regulates blood supply to hair follicles, enhances growth of thicker eyelashes and prevents them from falling off. Perfect sources of Vitamin H are mushrooms, walnuts, eggs, banana, soybean and beans. Have a good quantity of any of these every day to let those eyelashes get back to life.
