9 Home Remedies To Kill Bed Bugs

Bed bugs are little insects that suck blood and get active at night. In daytime, they hide themselves in pillows, mattress and bed covers. It is so irritating to wake up with hundreds of bites on your skin. These bed bugs can cause skin inflammation and allergies to the skin.

It is very important to kill them as fast as possible. There are some home remedies that will help in reducing bed bugs and provide relief. Try them if you are suffering from bed bugs, these remedies will definitely help in killing them.


9 Home Remedies To Kill Bed Bugs

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is good for skin and help you kill bed bugs very easily. Make a mixture using tea tree oil with water and fill it in a spray bottle. Mist it all around your furniture, mattress, and pillows and where ever your skin comes in contact.

After that use vacuum cleaner to clean the surface. The antiseptic property of tea tree oil will help in killing bed bugs. Do this daily so that no bug is left alive.


Sun

 

If possible, place your mattress, carpet, pillow and blankets in the sun rays for one hour every day. Sun rays will help in killing bed bugs naturally. Bright sun produce so much heat that is good to kill bed bugs.


Regular Vacuuming

Vacuum every corner of your house at least once in a week, also keep clean your vacuum bag regularly. Bed bugs can spread all over if any one of them is left.

They lay eggs every five to seven days, so cleaning house every week will help in removing bugs easily.


Alcohol

Alcohol is very good and easy way to kill bed bugs. Pour some alcohol in spray bottle and spray it on every corner of your bed. This will help in killing bed bugs. Alcohol will also make their eggs visible, so you can easily brush away the eggs. Repeat this at least twice in a week to get immediate effects.


Insecticides

Natural insecticides are available that are made of fruits or vegetables. Use these to spray in your house to kill bed bugs. Spray them daily on your furniture, under bed, mattress and other expected areas. This will be able to provide some relief from bed bugs.


Lavender Oil

Lavender oil acts a bug repellent. You can rub the lavender oil around your bed and the places where bugs are active. This will help you kill them and also repel new bugs to come inside the house.


Mint Leaves

Mint leaves are not liked by bed bugs and these leaves can also repel bugs from your house. You can use mint leaves to spread around your furniture, bed and the corners of your house. This will provide some relief from the bugs.


Hot Steam

Take a steamer and use it on your carpets and mattress. Do not try with your hair blower as it do not produce required heat. Steamer will help in killing bed bugs very efficiently.

Keep the nozzle of the steamer very near the carpet and mattress so that the hot steam will penetrate inside them. This will remove all the bugs. You can repeat the process after one week.


Wash

Wash your bed covers, bed sheets and pillows every day. This will help you remove some of the bugs. This is time-consuming method, but can provide relief from the bed bugs. Antiseptic liquid can also be added during washing.
